    1. Answer: Babies learn largely through their senses: Their eyes, ears, nose, hands, and mouth are their tools. As babies grow, they learn to use their bodies to make discoveries. They begin to reach and grasp which allow them to explore toys in new ways.
    2. Answer: When you can engage in sustained relationships with infants, toddlers, and their families, you can develop a deeper understanding of each child’s unique interests, needs, cues, and temperament, which increases your ability to give sensitive, high-quality care.
    3. Answer: do not focus on games, tasks, or activities, but on how to best create a social, emotional, and intellectual climate that supports child-initiated and child-pursued learning and the building and sustaining of positive relationships among adults and children. This should begin with study of the specific children in care. Detailed records of each child’s interests and skills are kept to give guidance to the adults for the roles they will take in each child’s learning. It should also be realized from the start that plans should not be static.

    1. Janate — Thanks for your comment. Babies learn through their senses. What impact do relationships have on an infant’s learning? How specifically can infant teachers create environments that support an infant’s social-emotional development and intellectual curiosity?

  2. 1). How do infants learn?
Answer: infants learn by using their senses. This allows them to explore their environment through their eyes, touch, taste, ears, and smell. This is how they discover the world around them.

2). How do relationships support infant learning & development?
Answer: relationships that support infant learning and development by engaging with them, build relationships with the families and the children, understand the child needs and wants, look for this signals and cues, their temperament, etc. because every child is different.

Answer: i think is best to create an environment where the infant can build their learning, build relationships, feel safe and secure. Also support the infant’s emotional, social and intellectual developments,

    1. Lacoya — Thanks for your comments. Babies do learn through their senses and through motor movements. I wonder, how do relationships impact a baby’s ability to learn? What specifically can an infant teacher do to create a curriculum that supports learning and build relationships? How does your response connect to the readings in this assignment?

  3. 1. Infants learn by their senses. Their eyes, nose, ears, hands, and mouth are their tools. As babies grow, they learn to enable their bodies and make discoveries with their environment.

    2. Loving, stable and responsive relationships are fundamental to an infants development. Through relationships, children learn how to think, understand, communicate, behave, express emotions and develop social skills.

    3. For infants to progress in this development, it is best to make sure that their environment is a safe place where they can be able to freely play and communicate with other students or staffs. Always be there to conversate with each infant to make sure that everyone will be able to communicate and express their emotions to you.

    1. Tamia — Thanks for your comment. Babies learn through their senses and motor movements. I wonder, how specifically do relationships impact a baby’s ability to learn? How does your response connect to the readings in this assignment?

  5. 1) How do infants learn?
Infants learn through their senses which are the 8 senses that were discovered in humans to determine that a baby was growing and exceeding their stages throughout their development. This makes connection to Piaget theory where he believes children learn through their stages in development and that once they have discovered each of their senses they make sense of what is going on around them in their environment. Although Piaget might have some truth in what he says I strong believe that infants also learn by what their caregivers and families teach them.

    2) How do relationships support infant learning & development?
Infants need support and care in order to develop. For example when it comes to learning how to walk although Piaget theory does prove that this is a stage in life that is bond to happen, infants depend on caregivers and families they trust to be able to help them through this stage. Building relationship is the key to development in infants. Relationships helps build trust.

Creating a safe and loving environment in an infant classroom is an ideal way of designing a curriculum. Anderson and McMullen explain this in their article that creating a caring environment is crucial in the first few years of an infants life. Building a relationship of empathy with infants helps promote social growth (Anderson, McMullen pg. 2).

    1. Eunice — Thanks for your comment. According to Piaget, babies learn from sensorimotor experiences in their environments– experiences that use their senses where they can use their body & move. In order for babies to engage in sensorimotor learning in their environment, they must feel safe and secure — they must have have trusting relationships with adults.

  6. 1)How do infants learn?
Infants start learning from the womb. Infants in the womb are learning their home language, culture through the food the parent is eating during pregnancy. Infants learn through the daily communication and activities that involve them. During diapering changes, baths everything that goes on with the infant is a learning experience and imitation is a key for infant learning.
2)How do relationships support infant learning & development?
Relationships in infant learning and development is a major key. This relationships have to be nurturing and supportive when it comes to their needs. Any type of relationship that involves the infant is important to them. That is why as infant teachers we need to make sure that we are forming relationships with parents from the beginning a child enrolls to your program.
3)Based on your responses to questions #1, & 2, and the information presented in this assignment

What should curriculum in infant classrooms be? Why?
Infant curriculum in infants classrooms should be heavy on building relationships and making sure we are communicating with parents. The curriculum should include learning experiences in everything.

How should infant teachers plan for or develop the curriculum for infant classrooms?
Infant teachers should develop the curriculum by making sure that they are scheduling time for hugs, comfort and all those nurturing things that the small need in order to growth. Teachers need to also make sure they are interacting when they are diapering changing , feeding , getting ready to sleep. Introducing infants to different toys to help them develop their motor skills. According to Anderson (2018) it states ” In the first months and years of life, children grow and develop best in relationships with familiar caregivers and peers. Through serve- and return interactions between caregiver and baby-children’s brain develops the underlying structure that leads to strong executive function and communication skills required for learning and life” (p.2). Here Anderson is giving us the reason why relationships from the beginning are important when working with infants and with children in general

    1. Patty — Thanks for your comment. Babies have to feel safe and secure with the people in their environment — through trusting relationships — so they can learn. When babies have trusting relationships with adults, they can explore their environment & engage in sensorimotor experiences. Sensorimotor experiences are how babies learn — experiences that involve their senses & physical/ motor movement.

      1. Infants learn by exploring their sensory skills. They use their eyes, mouth, ears, nose and other body parts to learn about the world around them. Relationships support infants learning and development through the engagement with their loved ones and those they trust. Creating a safe environment for the children in a classroom will better help with their development skills in many areas. Most importantly, every child should feel comfortable and trust their caregivers and peers.

  7. 1. How do infants learn?
    – Infants learn through their senses , they learn to use their bodies which allow them to explore .Which connects to Jean Piaget theory. Piaget believes that children develop intellectually. the cognitive theory involves four stages sensorimotor , preoperational, concrete operational and formal operational.
2.How do relationships support infant learning & development?
    – Relationships support infant learning and development by showing them how to express their emotions behave and develop social skills. Children learn through relationships infants learn how to think, understand and communicate.
    3. Based on your responses to questions #1, & 2, and the information presented in this assignment What should curriculum in infant classrooms be? Why?
    – Curriculum in infant classrooms should be mainly about building social skills, emotional development, cognitive skills. Also building relationships and communicating with the students and understanding them.
5.How should infant teachers plan for or develop the curriculum for infant classrooms?
    – infant teachers should have plans and follow schedules for each child. Build a bond with the families and students to create a respectful and safe environment for families and infants.

    1. Tamaris — Thanks for your comment. Babies learn by exploring their environment using their senses and their bodies — sensorimotor experiences. Before babies can explore their environments, they have to feel safe, secure, and trust the people in their environment. I wonder, how does what you wrote connect to the readings from this assignment?

  8. 1. How do infants learn?
Infants have the capacity to learn and grow in various of ways. A couple of the ways they learn is through self-exploration, their relationships and environment, and play.
    2. How do relationships support infant learning & development?
Relationships play a huge contribution in supporting infant learning and development. Relationships are needed to increase teachers understanding of a child’s development, facilitates secure attachments for children, strengthens family- caregiver partnerships, and improves children’s behavior and transitions (McMullen 38).

    3. What should curriculum in infant classrooms be? Why? How should infant teachers plan for or develop the curriculum for infant classrooms?
The curriculum in an infant classroom should be based on relationship-based practices that promotes attachments with not only the baby but their families as well. When both parties are involved it leads to providing care that is more accurately responsive and reciprocal to what our children are trying to tell us. Positive relationships built on trust with our children and students provide them with a secure foundation from which they can begin to learn from their environment and trust people within it.

    1. Xitlaly — Thanks for your comment. Babies need to feel safe, secure, and trust the people in their environment before they can learn. Once babies know they will be taken care of and supported, they can explore their environment, using their senses and body — sensorimotor learning. After teacher establish relationships with babies, they can create learning opportunities that allow babies to use their senses and body.
