Hi, I agree with the Bachelor’s degree. Even when some job does not require it, 85 percent of jobs go to people who have one. Not to mention, people with bachelor’s degree are generally more satisfied in their careers and have improved self-esteem.

I also agree with your opinion that a Bachelor’s degree will carry more weight when being considered for a position. In addition, I also empathize with you regarding having to pay for higher education out of pocket. Unfortunately, despite promises made by the prior administration and now the current one as well, the future does not guarantee that financial assistance for higher education will change. The Excelsior program requires that you take 12 credits or more per term/30 per year of continuous study successively and live/work in NYS for the same amount of time you received the aid in order to qualify for loan forgiveness. A feat that is not possible for all, especially those of us who work full time and have fluctuating work schedules.
