- What do you think is the most demotivating part of Harper’s job?
The most demotivating part of Harper’s job is that her new boss doesn’t appreciate her enough for the work she does. Ever since her previous boss left, Harper’s job responsibility increased with more work load. Her previous boss Jose used to manage her and another colleague, so he was able to give attention to her and recognize the hard work that she did. But Harper’s new boss has to manage the whole group, so he doesn’t have time to go to everyone and check on them. That’s why he is not available if Harper needs help and doesn’t recognize her for her hard work.
- If you were an HR manager meeting with Harper’s supervisor, David, what advice would you give to help them re-engage Harper?
If I was an HR manager, I would advise David to hold a monthly meeting for the employees and acknowledge them for their hard work. I think the manager should also do the employee of the month. That way the employees will be motivated to perform their best and will be appreciated.
- What would be the downside of losing Harper as an employee?
Losing Harper as an employee would be a downside because she is an amazing employee and very hard working. She has done more work than she could do but she wasn’t appreciated for it, and that’s why Harper decided to leave the company.
