Hello, my name Rukhshona Jabborova; I have been living in NY for more than five years now. Music is my passion, and this is the main reason why I’m majoring in music at BMCC. I also love engaging and learning more about political leadership. I believe this class will create an opportunity for learning more about political processes and outcomes, especially the leadership qualities adopted by the current leaders in our country.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all.
Introduction- Shay Shulman
Hi there,
My name is Shay Shulman and this is my last semester here at BMCC, as I will be transferring to John Jay this fall with a major in criminology and a minor in psychology. True crime and the mind and it’s operation fascinates me to no end. I very much would like to pursue a career in profiling but any area of helping cases be solved is right up my alley. My grandfather was a New York police officer so growing up watching many forensic-related TV shows definitely sparked my interest from a young age.

1. Labor refers to the people whose work allows wealth to be extracted. The means of production are the tools, facilities, and administrative capabilities labor uses to get this work done. If it’s my job to drill bowling ball holes, my labor is the human cost, while the drill I use is part of the means of production.
2. Value is the price that determines what a good or service can be sold in exchange for. Value is given when the total labor cost is considered. Something is valuable when the cost of production becomes high.
3. The cost of all labor determines value. It is the goal of the ownership class to dismantle as much of the cost of labor as possible.
4. Value represents part of the potential cost of labor. The cost of labor sets the value of a commodity. Labor power is the potential that exists within the individual worker, than that when combined with a means of production and activated, leads to labor, and production.
5. Surplus value is the profit the ownership class extracts after all labor and production costs have been paid for. This money goes directly to the those who own the means of production, and not more equitably distributed among the labor force.

Hi Everyone!
I am from New York. I have two more Semesters left at BMCC. My major is ECE. I do not currently work with children, but I am a proud mama to a 3-year-old girl and a 2-year old boy! I wanted to become a teacher since I was young. I would line up my stuff animals and teach them on a chalkboard my parents had bought me. I also remember the educators I had in my life that made a positive impact on me. My hope for this class is to strengthen my knowledge.
