Coming Into Joy

To take a deeper dive into pedagogies that center equity and justice, as open education does, we’ll be reading a few chapters from Unearthing Joy by Gholdy Muhammad. In chapter 2, Muhammad describes the five pursuits of culturally and historically responsive teaching and learning. In a comment below, reflect on:

  • In what ways do your current course learning experiences and design incorporate or reflect the five pursuits (p. 74)?
  • Where or in what ways might you build on the five pursuits in your course?
  • Are there additional pursuits you would add to the list? If so, what would those be?
