Zarah Martinez-Long Paper Outline:

The TV series I will be focusing on is One Piece. I’m drawn to this show because of the different arc/chapters it has, along with it being very out of this world like and the different characters that are in it. These are the things I will be researching about the TV series

  • when it was written, released, director/studio.
  • main characters, summary of tv show.
  • type of animation
  • voice acting
  • length of production.
  • music genre used

Zarah Martinez W10: Prompt 2

Todays most popular Japanese animated TV show in the US is anime. anime is a different kind of art style compared to the US where we have 3D animation and 2D but our drawing style is completely different to Japans. I think the reason why anime started booming in America was for their art style/drawing, but mostly the plot of each anime. most US shows don’t have the same plot or is even intriguing enough compared to Japans which is why it is very popular, such as demons, hunting, super powers, romance. I think it had gotten more popular in the US most recently because most people don’t like how dumb and clingy some shows here in the US can be, and some don’t prefer the 3D animation most productions are trying to use for the next generation.

Zarah Martinez- Prompt 2: Journal Week 7.

The “Private Snafu” cartoons used humor to in “Fighting Tools” to make their point get to the audience. The film was pretty simple, the detail wasn’t too much but neither too little. The drawings were smooth along with the different frames. In “Fighting Tools” there was a lot of singing about his weapons being one of the best ones ever but turns out it wasn’t when he was using it. He got in contact with the other solider from the enemy side and realized that his gun was no match for the enemy because they didn’t take care of their guns or equipment. The enemy side decided to make fun of the American solider singing how his gun was no match for theirs because he didn’t take care of his gun.

Zarah Martinez; Journal Entry-Week 4 (short paper outline)

The name of the short film I will be writing about is “A color box” by Lye Lye 1935. The reason I chose this film is because it caught my attention the moment I saw it. The aesthetic, color, and technique. I love colorful things and patterns so it really stuck out to me, made me feel in a happy mood kind of reminding me of spring and flowers. The fact that Lye Lye hand drew and painted all of the shapes and sculptures during the time period of mostly black and white was really next level in the animation industry. most people back then were used to watching things in black and white but Lye Lye decided to add color and it really changed the whole perspective of the film compared to other black and white ones. The Cubian music also spoke out to me it really went well with the film and together it was just really amazing.

List:

  • When did the film come out and time period
  • who made the film
  • what techniques did the creator used to make this film.
  • what was the process to make this film.
  • how long is the film
  • what is the tone/meaning
  • how long did it take to make this film
  • why did the creator decide to make this film.

JOURNAL ENTRY: Week 1

My name is Zarah. I chose this course to learn about the history of animation and to know more about how its used in other parts of the world, it is also a class I’m required to take for my major, which is animation and motion graphics. There isn’t a specific genre of animation I like its all beautiful. My career goals is try to put my art work into live motion such as animation and use it maybe for movies or a little show or just even a short video. I hope in the future my animation would be very useful. some hobbies i have is drawing and painting of course, gymnastics, and dancing.
