The films that stand out and catch my attraction the most are Betty Boop little lad made in 1935 by Fleischer Studios or Mickey Mouse Steamboat Willie made in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.

I’m drawn to these two films because of the wonderful artwork and storylines for each film as well as the characters. The characteristics of the characters are also something that draws me in. I love that it is black and white it. The stories for each film are very funny and make me feel lighthearted.

Victoria Gonzalez Week 3 {Prompt 2}

Animated films were based on print comics due to the fact that they were relatable and good entertainment, it also gave people a sense of belonging depending on the films/comics. Animated films that were made from comics were made to give people comfort perhaps or even inspire others to make something of themselves. It was the stories and drawings that made these comics an appropriate subject for films. Another part of of why these comics were a appropriate subject for films were the characters how they were drawn and their personalities/characteristics.

I don’t think I could imagine myself in the audience at Gaspard Robertson’s “Fantasmagorie” shows in 1797 while it looks unique and very creative I think I would be somewhat nervous or worried depending on the show and what the story would be about, the spooky candlit room along with the ghouls would scare me with all of the creepy elements that are added to the show. My reaction to the show would most likely panicky and a little afraid since this was something that was still new to people.

I believe that Robertsons show via metalonmetalblog and his lanterns on wheels called Fantoscope changing images along with the candlelit AND adding the introduction to the afterlife. Giving it a more terrifying and creepy for the audience I think it would definitely freak a lot of others in this time with all the dark and eerie elements.
