- Would you categorize the way the Jones family lives as personal selling? Why or why not?
– Personal selling is also known as face-to-face selling, which is exactly what the Joneses did. Interactions with there neighbors telling them the perfect lifestyle and how it’s going for them and it can easily happen for consumer too. Once the consumer actually can see how the Joneses live they visualize it for themselves and thats where the selling happens
- What similarities do you see between the sales tactics the Jones family employs and the marketing tactics of some of your favorite brands? Give an example.
-Some marketing tactics the Jones family employs that relates to some favorite brands are like Nike. Nike gives out this lifestyle of health and well goodness and are with the people 100%, even parted ways with NBA Star Kyrie Irving stating that they don’t condone any anti-semetic remarks however they got kids working in there factories breaking there backs for one dollar an hour. However people forget that when you got people from all sports like LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo repping the brand and people wanna buy product because of them.
- Based on what you read in the course materials and what you observed in this movie, do you think the way products are marketed in this movie is ethical?
– The Joneses did nit market there products in an ethical way at all. I am pretty sure if someone found out the the truth on how they manipulated everyone in their town to buy there products they can file a lawsuit for false marketing/advertising or even defamation. Companies are supposed to care about the consumer however the Joneses gave up a facade.
- How would you feel if you were friends with someone in the Jones family before you found out their secret? What about afterward?
-If I was friends with one of the Jones family I would be disappointed. For me loyalty runs deep and I would be in shock like wow, this was really who you are. Afterward, I would just distance myself from the family member and let them do there thing and not tell anyone because its not my thing to tell but karma is gonna hit them.
