The Jonses Assignment

A sales representative and a potential customer typically engage directly in personal selling. Consider about if the Jones family is influencing or selling things to people directly in the context of the movie. I could argue that their lifestyle fits with elements of personal selling if it is an intentional effort to convince others to buy specific products or adopt a particular lifestyle.

Look for similarities between the Jones family’s sales strategies and those of actual brands. Compare this to the advertising methods utilized by the companies you trust, for example, if the Joneses use social media, personal connections, or other strategies to generate demand for particular products. Find out which particular strategies or methods are similar.

Thinking about whether the movie’s illustrations of marketing strategies are ethically acceptable. Consider whether the practices of the Jones family are defined by honesty, sincerity, and respect for other people’s freedom and the potential effects that these approaches may have on people as well as society as a whole. Use the readings from the course and ethical principles to support my arguments.

If my friends with any member of the Jones family, picture your feelings both before and after they displayed their secret. Think about things like honesty, trust, and how their actions affect other people’s relationships. Consider if my opinion of them as friends is affected by their marketing strategies and how that might affect my faith in their honesty.

The joneses

1.Given that the primary objective of the Joneses is to live a lifestyle that not only embodies a business but also truly lives to sell, I would classify their way of life as personal selling.

2. The Jones family’s sales strategies are similar to influencer marketing, which is a popular strategy employed by many firms in the modern era. For instance, many of my favorite firms employ social media influencers to present their items in a real-life context, making them more enticing to the audience, just like the Joneses do with their wares to make them desired.

3. I think the way things are marketed in the movie creates ethical questions based on the course content and the film. The Joneses manipulate their neighbors into purchasing goods by tricking them into thinking their way of life is real. It is unethical to exploit personal ties for financial benefit and to act in such a transparent manner.

4. Prior to learning their secret, if I were friends with a member of the Jones family, I would probably feel adoration and maybe even desire to emulate them. But my feelings would change to betrayal and disappointment once I knew the reality. The acknowledgement that our camaraderie was founded on a promotional tactic would compromise the genuineness of our bond.

The jonseses

I would definitely categorize the Joneses way of living as personal selling because of the fact their main goal is to embody a lifestyle and to not only sell but really live to sell.

The tactic the family uses is not rare at all today. It would resemble how brands use people who are promoters, influencers, and even celebrities to showcase their products even sometimes faking to like it to generate sales. Fast food brands and brands who may even be coming up use these promoters to make ads and paid sponsored videos to help get the product out there.

I feel that the family is unethical in their approach of selling. I do feel that playing into this facade of a perfect family to generate sales is pretty unethical. I do believe other than that the family is very smart and skilled in how they sell.

If I was friends with the family before, I found out their secret, I would just be surprised and would just want to know why they never told me. Afterword I wouldn’t really be mad or anything just a little disappointed that beings’ friends was a just a step for them to sell products.

1.I would categorize the way the Jones family lives as a form of personal selling. They don’t just promote products; they embody the lifestyle those products represent. Their approach is to influence others through their own use and endorsement of the products in a very personal and direct manner, which is a key aspect of personal selling.

2.The sales tactics used by the Jones family resemble influencer marketing, a common tactic used by many brands today. For example, just like how the Joneses integrate products seamlessly into their lives to make them desirable, many of my favorite brands use social media influencers to showcase their products in a real-life context, making them more appealing to the audience.

3.Based on the course materials and the movie, I believe the way products are marketed in the film raises ethical concerns. The Joneses deceive their neighbors into believing their lifestyle is genuine, manipulating them to buy products. This lack of transparency and the exploitation of personal relationships for commercial gain can be considered unethical.

4.If I were friends with someone in the Jones family before knowing their secret, I would likely feel admiration and perhaps aspire to be like them. However, after finding out the truth, my feelings would shift to betrayal and disappointment. The realization that our friendship was based on a marketing strategy would undermine the authenticity of our relationship.
