  1. Personal selling is a way to make sales through skills and actions. The Joneses do personal selling, however they do it in a different way. The Joneses lifestyle is a way of personal selling, the family’s way of selling is through their lifestyle and socializing to make sales in the products.
  2. The Joneses family connects with costumers in a socializing way, and their lifestyle is what makes sales, this is a similar concept as brands in the real world connecting to costumers. Brands make a connection with their costumers through celebrities and influencers. One example is makeup companies like Ulta Beauty, they make collaborations with influencers either through makeup products or through promotion. These influencers and celebrities are people costumers love to see therefore, they are more likely to buy the product.
  3. I think the marketing in the movie is unethical because the Joneses family creates a trust bond with costumers , therefore it makes costumers believe all products are good, yet they are being manipulated with the trust from the Joneses family; taking away the transparency and the authenticity needed to be ethical.
  4. If I was friends with the Joneses family before I knew their secret, I would probably feel admiration about their lifestyle and would have wish to have a lifestyle like that. However, after I found out their secret I would just see them in disappointment because they faked a lifestyle to create sales, being a marketing strategy, and the costumers being manipulated victims.

                                             Say Hello to our new Holiday products and deals!  

Ulta Beauty, a cosmetics company around the US is excited to announce their new holiday sales. Ulta Beauty’s mission is to satisfy costumers with their new promotions in their stores. The company brings out new products constantly, especially on special ocassions and Holidays. The company keeps their Costumers up to date through their website which is www.Ulta.com . New products are being brought out this holidays to get into the christmas spirit. The stores are releasing features such as

  • Discounts
  • New Products
  • Gift guides to keep a budget
  • sales

Ulta Beauty is collaborating with various makeup brands to bring out christmas related products. For example, the makeup company Spectrum is releasing The Nightmare before Christmas products like brushes to give costumers a fun way to get into the holiday spirit. Like mentioned Before Ulta Beauty’s website has released a gift guide option. This option allows costumers to click how much their budget is and search products around that price line. Costumers are able to now search products around their price range through a easier way.

Ulta Beauty’s website also now has a discount tab. When costumers click this tab, they are allowed to see the latest discounts on products, navigating and choosing deals. Costumers will also receive discounts through email because of having a loyal status. Ulta Beauty’s mission this holiday is to give back to their costumers as a form of gratitude.

Shark Tank- The fidget game

The product that stood out to me most between the four episodes of shark tank was Brandi Dugal’s product called the fidget game. This product stood out to me the most because it had a good concept for the audience it was seeking for. This product is both educational and interactive in a fun way for children. The reason why this is a good product concept is because kids will be able to have fun while learning at the same time. Learning and having fun don’t usually mix together however Brandi’s fidget game has succeeded in making this product connect both concepts turning it into one complete product concept. This product has become a solution to both parents and children, therefore successfully catching the attention of their audience.

The fidget game is a product made for children to have fun while learning at the same time. This is a game that includes different products such as dice, cards, and fidget products. The main goal of the fidget game is to help children enhance their reading skills. this game fits for all grade levels for children to best help match the game they should play. These products connect by using reading cards and whoever gets a correct answer gets to roll the dice and then press the fidget products, overall whoever presses the fidget toy most wins. This game gives children a reason to want to win therefore makes them gain more knowledge in learning with the reading cards.

Getting into numbers and statistics, Brandi seeks for $500,00 in exchange for 10% of the company. Brandi explains that this is a reasonable exchange by mentioning the success and achievements the company has made. In 13 months, the company made $2.3 million sales. Most of the sales were gained from amazon by 85%, the rest of the 15% have been made in Brandi’s site. Brandi’s first testing to see if the product was a success was by getting feedback from 100 teachers who used the game on children. This was later brought to the platform called tik tok which help make the fidget game the #1 reading game within 6 months in amazon. The margin of this product escalated to 32% creating a good margin and making the profit 1 million 250. The statistics and numbers have shown why Brandi’s product is a sucess.

The reason why people feel the need to have this product is because the combination of both education and games. Parents both get the help in enhancing their children’s education by using these games on them. This product succeeded in being unique disregarding the imitations made, this product was able to gain the attention of the right audience which are children. The reason why this was a successful product concept was because the product created something that the audience they were seeking for needed. This product became beneficial therefore made people need it, it overall was a successful product.

In Salt Lake City, my journey began with finding the best Italian restaurant that fit my personal preferences. Some people prefer take-out however I am the type of person to always enjoy dining in and having the full experience. After navigating through various locations, I have found the best italian restaurant where I can enjoy the nice ambiance, good food, and decent prices.  

Recognition of need  

As a consumer it is best to know what your personal needs are. I personally prefer a good ambiance with a fine dining experience of good food with reasonable prices. Knowing that experience and the fine dining is what I’m looking for, I used this as the main information to help me look for a place that I am sure I will enjoy.  

Information search  

The main resource I like to use is google maps, it is an easy and quick way to find and look at locations you are looking for, they also show ratings, comments by costumers, and pictures of what everything looks like which to me is helpful. The second resource I like to use as a backup sometimes is Tik Tok. Tik Tok is a trending app that has almost videos of everything therefore sometimes you can find full small videos of reviews made by people for the location you are looking for.  

Evaluation of Alternatives 

With my research I looked for places I liked and searched for what I was looking for. I ran into various locations like Caffé Molise (4.5 stars), Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant (4 stars), Brio Italian Grille (4 stars), and VENETO Ristorante Italiano (4.5 stars). After finding these 4 locations and seeing the star reviews, I did deeper research in each restaurant and search which one best fit my standards into the perfect dining, I looked at pictures, reviews, and prices 

Purchase  

After doing deeper research into each restaurant, I found that Caffé Molise was the restaurant that best fit my dining standards. The ratings, like mentioned before, were good with 4.5 stars. The restaurant had a nice calm clean ambiance. This restaurant had 2.968 reviews that were all positive and talked about reasonable prices.  

Post purchase behavior 

After doing full research on google maps, it was concluded that deep searches can help find what best fit you. 

Ethics writing assignment- Sephora

                         In this assignment I chose the company Sephora due to the passion I have for cosmetology. Sephora is a cosmetics company that focuses on beauty and sells a variety of cosmetics; It operates over 2,700 stores around 35 countries worldwide. Sephora’s mission is to make a person feel beautiful no matter their culture, race, religion etc. ; it includes diversity. Sephora’s 3 main responsibilities are to preserve the planet by bringing in and including more and more plants based cosmetics,  to serve their community which is to be diverse therefore,  connecting to the third responsibility which is to be diverse and to make everyone feel confident and beautiful which is overall, to be the best versions of themselves. Many people have the idea that Sephora is just related to makeup. However Sephora has 4 CSR programs connected to them which are: Employee giving/assistance, community outreach, environmental outreach, environmental action. For example Sephora’s headquarters, distribution centers, and stores are powered by 100% renewable energy and have been a EPA green power partner for the last seven years, and have also added energy managing systems, showing their strong support for the environment and preserving the planet. While holding a strong support for the environment to help the community, Sephora’s message is to also build inclusive environments for employees and costumers to make them feel beautiful and confident which is their ethical morals.

                    Although mainly all Sephora stores offer costumer service and assistance to satisfy the costumer’s experience, in some regions Sephora has limited service leading to different costumer experiences , which needs improvement to make all costumers feel the same experience every costumer should feel, connecting to their ethical mission. Overall Sephora stores success  have grown by including more diversity than before creating a trustful and comforting  environment for everyone. If Sephora improves in a worldwide costumer service experience it’s success can grow more, accomplishing their ethical goals.
