The Jonses Assignment

A sales representative and a potential customer typically engage directly in personal selling. Consider about if the Jones family is influencing or selling things to people directly in the context of the movie. I could argue that their lifestyle fits with elements of personal selling if it is an intentional effort to convince others to buy specific products or adopt a particular lifestyle.

Look for similarities between the Jones family’s sales strategies and those of actual brands. Compare this to the advertising methods utilized by the companies you trust, for example, if the Joneses use social media, personal connections, or other strategies to generate demand for particular products. Find out which particular strategies or methods are similar.

Thinking about whether the movie’s illustrations of marketing strategies are ethically acceptable. Consider whether the practices of the Jones family are defined by honesty, sincerity, and respect for other people’s freedom and the potential effects that these approaches may have on people as well as society as a whole. Use the readings from the course and ethical principles to support my arguments.

If my friends with any member of the Jones family, picture your feelings both before and after they displayed their secret. Think about things like honesty, trust, and how their actions affect other people’s relationships. Consider if my opinion of them as friends is affected by their marketing strategies and how that might affect my faith in their honesty.

The role of PR Assignmnet

Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is the organization.

The reason for Care: Utilizing personally volunteered with the WCS, I have a great deal of respect for the work they do to save wildlife and habitats around the world. In order to maintain a healthy planet for future generations, their academic research and campaigns for community involvement are vital.

The key Project: WCS will begin a ground-breaking citizen science project named “Wild NYC” in the goal of getting the public engaged with monitoring the urban wildlife populations in the city. By doing the use of these resources, locals will be able to gather essential information for WCS researchers on a range of species, such as bats, owls, and coyotes.

Media Appeal:

  • Unique and Appealing: “Wild NYC” provides a unique opportunity for city people to get outside and support scientific studies.
  • Locally Relevant: New York City, an international city with an extensive range of wildlife populations and an increasing interest in environmental issues, is the primary focus of the initiative.
  • Community Involvement: “Wild NYC” develops a feeling of ownership and responsibility through allowing people of all ages to take an active role in conservation efforts.
  • Powerful Data: Future conservation strategies will be informed by the insightful information gathered about the distribution and happiness of urban wildlife.

Potential Media Coverage:

  • News organizations nearby such as the New York Times, ABC News, and NY1 could be eager to cover the launch of “Wild NYC” and display its different technique for citizen science.
  • The project might be pointed out by environmental media stores like TreeHugger, National Geographic, and Mongabay as an imaginative example of urban conservation.
  • Using social media sites like Instagram and Twitter can help spread the word about “Wild NYC” and connect with a wider demographic.

The promotion Campaigns:

  • WCS could organize a press conference or launch party to introduce “Wild NYC” and invite the media.
  • Create appealing media kits and press releases that highlight the goals and importance of the project.
  • To raise awareness and promote involvement, collaborate with influential locals and environmental groups.
  • Establish social media campaigns and engaging web platforms that involve the public in “Wild NYC.”

WCS can draw public attention to “Wild NYC,” gain support for the effort, and eventually play a role in the conservation of wildlife in the center of New York City by effectively promoting the program through media communication and participation plans.

Product Concept

In this Shark Tank episode, the Scrub Daddy pitch struck the greatest chord with me. The texture of Scrub Daddy, a special cleaning sponge, varies with the temperature of the water. It becomes firm and durable in cold water, making it ideal for scrubbing away impatient messes. It becomes pliable and soft in hot water for moderate cleaning.

Scrub Daddy is a modern cleaning sponge that simplifies and improves cleaning, as showed to the “sharks.” It is made of a unique material whose texture varies with the temperature of the water. This makes it suitable for a range of cleaning jobs, from gently cleaning surfaces that are delicate to scrubbing away stubborn messes.

Scrub Daddy closes several gaps in the industry. Conventional sponges are too firm for delicate cleaning or too soft for scrubbing away difficult messes. By changing texture based on water temperature, Scrub Daddy solves this issue. Furthermore, traditional sponges often have bacteria that can spread infection. Scrub Daddy is a more hygienic cleaning tool because it is made to resist the growth of bacteria.

Scrub Daddy makes a number of processes easier, including:

1.Tough mess cleaning: Scrub Daddy’s firm texture makes it possible to quickly and effectively remove obstinate messes like grease or burnt food.
2.Scrub Daddy’s gentle texture makes it ideal for use on countertops and other delicate surfaces.
3.Cleaning dishes: Scrub Daddy’s unique shape makes it comfortable to hold and operate.
4.Car washing: Scrub Daddy works well for cleaning cars and trucks because of its durable texture.

Consumers should not only want Scrub Daddy, but they should feel that they NEED it because it is:

  • Versatile: Scrub Daddy can be used for a variety of cleaning tasks.
  • Effective: Scrub Daddy is designed to quickly and effectively remove dirt, grime, and grease.
  • Hygienic: Scrub Daddy is designed to resist bacteria growth.
  • Durable: Scrub Daddy is made from a durable material that is designed to last.

Based on what I learned in this unit’s textbook chapter, Scrub Daddy could be best positioned to appeal to consumers by using the following branding and packaging strategies:

  • Brand Positioning: Scrub Daddy should be positioned as the “all-in-one” cleaning sponge that can tackle any cleaning task.
  • Target Audience: Scrub Daddy should be targeted to a wide audience, including homeowners, renters, and professional cleaners.
  • Packaging: Scrub Daddy should be packaged in a way that highlights its unique features and benefits. The packaging should also be eye-catching and informative.
  • Pricing: Scrub Daddy should be priced competitively with other cleaning sponges on the market. However, the price should also reflect the product’s unique features and benefits.

By using these branding and packaging strategies, Scrub Daddy can effectively reach its target audience and persuade consumers that they need this product in their homes.

Consumer Decision Making

In my experience, the consumer decision-making process was tough at first but ultimately beneficial because, as a customer, I hadn’t learned anything about the restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah, or nor seen any targeted advertisements about them. In this essay, I’ll outline the steps I took to place an Italian takeout order in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Stage 1: Need Recognition- is the initial step in the decision-making process for consumers. At this point, the customer realizes they have a need or want that must be satisfied. I realized that I was craving Italian takeout since I was hungry.

Stage 2: Information search-in the consumer decision-making process as soon as I realized what I needed. This is the stage in which the customer learns about the options which are available to meet their needs. In the present situation, I searched up Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah, using Google Maps and Google Search.

Stage 3: Evaluation of alternative-after learning more about the options that were available. At this point, the customer determines the various options and selects the one that best matches their requirements. In my case, I used the following standards to evaluate the Italian restaurants I discovered in Stage 2: Italian cuisine, Delivery time and Reviews of Prices. In the end, I decided to go with Frankies 457 Spuntino because it’s a classy, expensive Italian restaurant that delivers food.

Stage 4: Purchase-At this point, the customer makes the purchase. In my case, I ordered takeout Italian food from Frankies.

Stage 5: Post-Purchase behavior- At this point, the customer evaluates how happy they are with their purchase and might start spreading the word about it. In my case, I was quite happy with my order from Frankies, and I will undoubtedly tell others about them.

The process of making decisions by consumers is complex and requires extensive investigation and examination. It can result in a satisfying purchase, though, and it’s also a rewarding process. In my case, I was pleased with how the procedure turned out and gained a lot of knowledge about the various Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah. There is a lot of information to consider when making decisions as a consumer, which can be difficult.  I was taken back by Salt Lake City, Utah’s plenty of Italian restaurants. There were a lot of considerations to make when selecting a restaurant, so I also had to think carefully about my criteria.

My Preferences compare to other consumers can be-

  • It’s possible that my tastes differ from those of other customers.
  • Time restraints and financial constraints are two examples of factors that can impact the decision-making process of consumers.
  • Making decisions requires flexibility and a willingness to listen to new ideas.

Dunkin Donuts

In recent years, the widely recognized coffee and fast-food chain Dunkin’ has made significant progress toward welcoming sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility. These programs show a commitment to ethical behavior, environmental sustainability, and involvement in the community. Reducing carbon footprint is one of Dunkin’s noteworthy sustainability initiatives. The business has set high standards to minimize its environmental effect. They have been actively involved in recycling programs, cutting back on water use, and enhancing energy efficiency in their stores. Dunkin’ has also improved their supply chain by obtaining approved sustainable palm oil, which contributes to the fight against deforestation and the protection of wildlife habitats. Concerning ethical conduct, Dunkin’ has taken a leading role in fair trade campaigns. They provide a range of Fair-Trade USA-certified coffee products. These certifications ensure that coffee farmers are paid fairly and have better working conditions, which is consistent with the values of fairness and equity.

In addition, Dunkin’ has established the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation as part of its charitable activities. This foundation has a commitment to helping children, particularly those who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses or hunger, maintain their health and well-being. They promote these charitable causes with both money and their time.

I believe that Dunkin’ could further improve its efforts in sustainability, social responsibility, and ethics by taking into consideration the following recommendations:

1.Cutting Single-Use Plastics: Dunkin’ could encourage the use of reusable cups and introduce sustainable packaging options in an effort to reduce the use of single-use plastics.

2.Improving Employee Benefits: Companies can uphold their ethical values and guarantee the welfare of their workers by providing competitive pay, improved healthcare benefits, and educational assistance to their staff.

3.Local Sourcing: Using more sustainably produced and locally sourced food can boost neighborhood economies, cut down on transportation-related pollution, and enhance food quality.

4.Community Engagement: Dunkin’ can strengthen its relationships with the communities in which it operates and show that it is committed to social responsibility by encouraging and promoting employee volunteerism in those fields.

5.Public Transparency: Companies can increase the credibility and trust of their responsible business initiatives through being open and truthful about their sustainability goals and achievements, offering regular updates on their progress, and openly addressing issues.

Despite Dunkin’ has already made significant progress toward sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility, there is always room for improvement. In today’s demanding and environmentally conscious world, Dunkin’ is able to strengthen its reputation as a socially responsible and ethical business through executing these suggestions and constantly striving to do more in these areas.
