This is our class website for English 101 at BMCC in New York City for the Spring semester 2023. Each student created an “About Me” slide. Then we divided into small groups to create Semester Projects about either “This is Water” by David Foster Wallace or “The Danger of a Single Story” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Each student also created a short presentation about the question of whether friendship is chosen or whether it just happens. Here is a link to the students’ initial ideas about this question, shared in a padlet: Friendship. Here is a collection of some of the students’ Friendship Projects.

The Semester Project was inspired by the AANAPISI Bridge Initiative BMCC/Hunter ABI Workshop’s prompt to create an innovation based on the question of “why am I here?” The “About Me” slides were inspired by an innovation by Professor Claire Balani at CCNY. Syelle Graves at BMCC helped with the design, specifications and layout of this website.
