  1. Write your Commentary Paper
  2. Apply what you learned in ECE 209 to an infant & family
  3. Synthesize what you have learned in ECE 209
  4. Engage in the recursive writing process

Activity #1 Commentary Paper

For this paper, imagine you are an infant teacher.  A new family is joining your class/program — the family is your Infant/ Family Case Study family.  Because you will be the child’s key teacher, you were assigned to conduct the home visit to get to know the family and family.  Now, it’s time to you share what you learned about the child and family with the other members of your teaching team so they can get to know the family and baby.  Write a report (your Commentary Paper) to share what you learned about the family and baby, and how the teaching staff can support the baby and family in your classroom.

The Commentary Paper is a recursive writing process that involves the following steps:

      1. Writing your Commentary Paper
      2. Submitting your Commentary Paper
      3. Receiving feedback on your Commentary Paper
      4. Revising your Commentary Paper based on the feedback you receive
      5. Resubmitting your revised Commentary Paper
      6. Uploading your revised Commentary Paper to your ECE e-Portfolio
