The best practices for working with families who have infants would be from the video “TAPS: Partnership with Families Part 4 (2012) ” where encouraging the families to text or call during the day so families feel more comfortable in reaching out, making them feel welcome during arrival and during pick ups, displaying family photos throughout the classroom and sharing it amongst other children, encouraging families to allocate at least 10-25 mins to stay back during drop off /pick up to enjoy their child’s learning, having openness by inviting other families to be present or even allowing parents to feel like its a home environment to where they can place their child’s food in the classroom refrigerator. In the Keyser (2017) it explains why daily communication is important which I believe is a best practice for working with families who have infants as well.

  2. The best practices for working with families who have infants will be from the reading Keyser 2017. Keyser’s practice are really important specifically because it is important to keep communication between parents and kids how they involved in classes ,it is also important to have daily communication daily ,check-in‘s, share information about the Children , make the parents feel welcome and comfortable to talk about the child. By allowing this shows an open communication between families and caregivers it will create a good environment for the children and a trust from the parents. It is really important to apply these information for parents who have infant because it’s a way to create a bond an open conversation that will benefit the child development .

  3. The best practices for working with families who have infants from the reading and video in this module is having daily communication. Communication is important with families to provide immediate feedback and opportunities to clarify information when it is being shared. Having Face to face conversation create opportunities to read non verbal cues, written communication also allows information to be shared and some parents prefer that(Keyser ,2017) . Also
    sharing the child’s day at pick up, connecting home experiences with centers activities .

  4. The best practices for working with families who have infants is to always make sure that you’re keeping an open ended communication with the families. In the reading from Keyser, it states that some ways to do this is by taking photos, calling or texting, or even having a virtual board online. Keeping parents updated with the development of their children helps build relationships.

  5. Best practices for this module that are key are ensuring there is a partnership with the parent. Include them in the process and build a trusting relationship with daily communication. Share information and observations that can address certain issues or concerns and come to a mutual agreed plan together.
