  1. In this week Module I learned the importance of providing children with options and respecting their beliefs/ practices within school in order to create a trusting bond with the child . I also learned manners in which respect can be applied within the classroom , which will make the environment feel more inclusive and comfortable for all students and families. When families and children feel respected they are likely to engage more . Creating a room with respect makes everyone’s day easier and more understanding including the teachers , students , and families .

The materials from this module will help me as an educator because I am now more aware of the proper way to approach children for the most effective results . I also realized that children have the right to choose and they should not always be forced to follow the commands of adults . Giving them choices makes them understand routine and the importance of trust .

I learned what it means to be respectful and how you can show it to both caregivers and Infants. one way to be respectful is to match your pace with the children, telling them what you are doing to them rather than just doing it for them. I also learned the difference between supporting and intervening, because you see it quite often that parents/ caregivers do things for the baby rather than letting them do it themselves.
