If you are unsure of the age group you want to work with, pick the age you are most curious about or want to know more about.

I observed preschool age group & I did so because I’m not sure if I want to work with preschool or kindergarten.
What struck you from the video? Why?
A: I was stuck by the dramatic play area being so small because from the video the room look big enough for the play area to be extended. I also think that the area was way too cluttered and needed organization.
What did you learn being a teacher with the age group you observed?
A: I learned that there was going to be a lot of redirection needed, I learned that you have to pay lots of attention because there are times where the kids can be mean to one another or rude. So you have to catch that and redirect it.
Can you picture yourself working in the classroom? Why?
A: I could not picture myself working in the classroom because the area that I did observe was extremely cluttered, the area needed to be re-organized I needed to see more interaction from the other students in their centers. I think that They should have more centers because the room is big enough, also I think that there should’ve been more interaction of the two teachers in the room with the children. I feel when you were with that age You are supposed to be extremely hands-on and I also think that you should be upbeat and constantly moving around with them especially during center time.
I observed preschool children and I did this because I want to work with younger children rathern then an older group.
What struck me from this video is how the children interact with one another. This suprised me how a child of that age can be so developed and have good cognitive skills.
What I learned being a teacher with the age group I observed was that beimg a teacher requires alot of attention when working with younger children. Also observing them is harder then an older child.
I can picture myself working in a classroom because interacted with children seems hard but I feel like I could manage. It just takes patience which I require and dedication to helping them learn for their age group.
