Fallacies are frequent mistakes in reasoning that will cause your arguments logic to be weakened. Fallacies are characterized by their lack of supporting evidence and can be either illegitimate or irrelevant arguments. The fallacy I have chosen is tu quoque which is pronounced too-kwo-kweh which translates to you too. This fallacy is known to appeal to hypocrisy. It is commonly employed as an effective red herring because it takes the heat off someone having to defend their argument and instead shifts the focus back onto the person making the criticism. An example of this can be the current rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick called Drake “predictable, “master manipulator”, and a “habitual liar”, and accused him of getting abs surgery, being a pedophile, and not knowing how to raise his son. On the other hand, Drake accuses Kendrick of abusing his long-time fiance. He also accuses him of being the real pedophile. You avoided having to engage with criticism by turning it back on the accuser, answering criticism with criticism.
