Unit 6: Learning & Development + Performance & Appraisal

Welcome to Unit 6: Learning & Development + Performance & Appraisal! In this unit, we will explore how organizations benefit from employee development, and how HR professionals can lead this development for individuals and groups. We will learn strategies for effective performance reviews, how L&D and appraisals go hand-in-hand, and how organizations can invest in people by preparing them to be more attractive to their competitors (I know, it sounds backwards!). Just like a grade on an assignment or at the end of a semester at BMCC is feedback on your performance, organizations “grade” their employees based on their competence in specific areas, or core competencies.
