Shane Russell Personality Test Assignment
After taking the personality test that was provided it turns out that I am an assertive commander. According to my research an Assertive Commander personality sees opportunity in every obstacle they might come across. They can’t get easily derailed by unforeseen events, and swiftly modify their plans according to the new situations. They are intelligent and witty, and their mind works towards finding a way out. Seeing what my personality is being portrayed as, I agree with the results I have gotten from the personality test. What the personality test gave me was spot on what I am like l, in general. I never let any opportunity slip from me, I also make sure I take what ever is given to me and make the best out of it. When my results came back and it said that I was a commander I was laughing because, when I was smaller I use to always want to be in charge like it didn’t matter what it was.
The assigned strengths that my personality has are challenged-motivated, self confident and relaxed. The assigned challenges that my personality has are impatient, risk takers inconsiderate. After viewing the strengths and weaknesses of my personality, I believe that it’s dead spot on, and this is how I am, majority of the time. Throughout my personal and work like I do see these strengths and weaknesses playing out a lot, through my personality. In my personal and work life with these strengths I see them playing important roles. Like I said before I’m always taking advantage of every opportunity given to me, nothing is taking for granted by me and not one opportunity can slip from me at work or personal. From young I was taught that you have to have confident in yourself or, nobody else would. Having self confident will allow you to show people that you carry yourself with pride and that you don’t show no fear. I’ve been told by a lot people that I am a relaxed person, like they were shocked that I can take jokes people make about me or negative energy.
Now onto the weaknesses, that my personality have, the one that screams at me the most is impatient. Everyone that knows me or has worked with me know I have the least patience. I hate to wait to long for things to get done, where as I would do it myself. I know that’s not professional but, that’s why I think I tend to rather work alone then in groups. With the risk taking weaknesses, I do tend to only take risk when it’s something that corresponds with my belief and interest. Doing risk like this, I know will hurt me in the long run because, I will be missing out on opportunities that will benefit me and allow me to grow. I never use to think that I was a person that is inconsiderate but, as I got older I started to see that at times I could become like that. I have to realize that not everyone learns or can do things the way I do them and how fast I can do them. This is where I believe a improvement in my impatient can help me be less inconsiderate.
Based on the situation that the questions is presenting about, are personality tests effective ways to determine whether a candidate is right for a role, I think it is an effective way that helps people really know what this persons intentions are in life. This way is a better and more professional way to see where people are at instead of going through their social media’s. Doing it this way shows that you have respect for the person, instead of violating their personal space, where they post personal things.
