My biggest take away from our live session was even though i’m not currently looking for a job building my linked in profile can offer me a variety of new opportunities. Having a good profile can also be what gets me a job, for example if someone wanted to hire me they can see more information about me that’s not on my resume. it gives an opportunity to the hiring manager to get to know me on a more personal level.

You are 100 percent right about having a Linked in profile can offer/open up a variety of new opportunities for you. For me, Linked In is another tool in the job seeking/networking toolbox that will be as effective as you make it. I have networked with not only prior co workers and classmates from school; but also suppliers and vendors that I used to purchase from in my previous job roles. You never know when you may need to tap into a prior contact to form a new business relationship in the future. Plus all of the people you network with and work with on LinkedIn could provide you with leads to your next job opportunity. Like the Professor mentioned before, sometimes in business/job hunting its all about who you know!
It is nice to see that you are aware of the opportunity that you could earn from Linkedin. As a tool, it won’t work if don’t believe in its reliability. Nothing has to be minimized on the path of success and this is one of the weapons you should carry during this journey.
