Hello everyone
There were many takeaways. The information presented was things that will benefit everyone when they are faced with the interview process. What I found was interesting was the interview process itself. The discussion on how questions should be answered, the preparation process, and how to interact in an interview were things that stand out to me. I did not know that a person can walk with writing material and take notes for reference purposes during an interview.
Hi rayon I completely agree with you. They helped a lot when it came to what to say in an interview and how to prepare. I also didn’t know you can take notes for reference purposes during an interview until our last class. I also learned ways to prepare and study before an interview.
Hi Rayon.
I wanted to compliment you on your LinkedIn profile. From what I was able to observe, it seems to me that you are already on your way to a flourishing management career. A recommendation I would like to make is to reach out to co-workers, managers, etc. who can provide you with a good recommendation on LinkedIn. One of the things that we heard Tiffany Suarez mention is that as a recruiter she no longer looks for conventional references and instead looks to a person’s LinkedIn profile for recommendations made by colleagues/supervisors on their profile.
Hi Rayon,
My favorite part of the expert session was how the questions should be answered, the preparation process, and how to interact in an interview. Being good at interviews is such an art!
As far as the writing material to bring with you in an interview; its an awesome idea yet so few people do it. In my previous job when I have sat in interviews for management level roles (we were looking to hire a manager) , I may have seen 1 or 2 people bring writing material to an interview and it immediately gave a great impression. It shows that you are serious, well prepared, and receptive. Someone who’s taking notes shows that they are interested and paying attention. Especially if the person wrote down some quick notes about the company or perhaps about themselves and their experience; it just shows how much they want the job. Sure it may seem like cheating; but the impression it gives far outweighs that. Give yourself every edge you can!
