Equal Right Assignment

This is an image that I took and edited myself during the “peaceful protest” during the #BLACKLIVESMATTER movement of a female being manhandled by 3 male NYPD officer cops. This is a conversational topic and may offend others someway somehow, but its something that needs to be spoken about. In today’s day in age coming from a minority standpoint, it’s scary! Having to constantly look over your shoulder just to see another day. It is unbelievable. Just for something as simple as equal rights and justice. I live in an area where it is mainly Latinos and Blacks, but I work in an area where is primarily whites as an Information Technician. And I would have to work twice as hard while my peers would get the silver spoon! All I ask for as a minority is for equality and respect.

“Treat others how you would like to be treated”

@gilbertramos Thank you! But, unfortunately this is something that I’ve adapted to and satrted to understand as I got older. Instead of complaining I take action in my workplace and for those who gotten the “silver spoon” doesn’t get the recognition that I do because they don’t work as hard.

This is such a moving capture. It embodies the social climate of yesterday “the 1960’s” as well as today 2020. It speaks volumes and is extremely accurate to alot of peoples reality then and now. No apology needed the message is neccessary and heart felt.

This is a powerful pictures and I agree things like this need to be spoken about. Working for the department while also being apart of that minority always makes me think that it could be me if i didn’t have the uniform. Living in fear will never be okay and this fight for equality must continue until a change is made.

@dimitrij Working in the department, thats good. A few years ago, who would’ve thought that a minority would be able to do so. It’s a start towards change! I realized that fear is everywhere you go, and if you try to live your life fearless you barely get the things that you want because of your fear of rejection or failure! Sometimes are wiling to risk for and all that matters is the circumstances of the situation.
