Retention Assignment – A Case of Disengagement

When I was reading the case study and also comparing it with the retention strategies that could help the case, I found some problems that contrasting between the reality problem and the truth of the effective way to keep up with the valuable points of having a long-term and loyal employee. There are so many factors that generating these mutual problems and, in this case, there were some of them that could be fixed by doing some re-vamp of the company’s base structure.

First of all, I feel that the most demotivating part from Harper’s job was because of the less supporting working environment that she had before her prior boss left the company and she did not receive the same expectation work-flow that she got before and also received less support and aware from her current boss. I know that as an upper-level position, they have more power and authority to manage the rules and allowance. However, it must be re-organized in order to keep up the work ethic of each employee and I believe re-calibrating the job-desk of each manager or equivalent positions that handle the employee are also important and account significant result that can be the key for the productivity of the company. This can be done by hiring more managers or even supervisors that can take care a smaller number of employees at one time and making it more intense also focus that generates higher effectivity rate of each employee work result.

Secondly, if I were chosen to be HR manager of Harper’s boss, I would try to find out the most effective way for it by finding out the case problem either by asking the supervisor, David or even better directly into Harper. Since we all know that most of cases are people lack of power to talk out since they all know their place and position in a company and I would strongly say that caste roles are still out and not everybody are brave enough to say it. That is one of the reasons why as a company, they have to choose an appropriate supervisor or higher levels position with the capable knowledge and experience to take care and handle massive amounts of heads. And I feel after this change is done, It could really help and fix the problem and find out what is the best solution to keep up with the working phase and also keeping the turnover rate of the employee on the level that it has to be.

Lastly, there are many downsides of losing a loyal employee like Harper, the main reason is that is really hard to find out the same capable individual that can handle the same amount of workload that the existing employee by short amount of time and training. Everything takes process to be in their more advanced situation and not everybody can do that. And also, it creates higher turnover rate and also affect the company resources indirectly. And with that reasons, It is better for the company to keep the employees valuable and understand why employee should stay for the sake of the company-wise.

The Founder Assignment

Based on the films, The points that make Ray Kroc and the brothers different from each other was having different way of thinking how the business should work within the opposite point of views. Ray Kroc was an proactive and ambitious salesman with really huge growth as part of the business works. While, the brothers were thinking about keeping the quality and consistency on each product that they sell. So, they felt that their business was content and enough for them as long as they can maintain the services and productions. It was showing persistent condition of them and the difference compared with how Ray Kroc thinks.

Regarding whether selling out the business to Ray Kroc, It could be seen from many perspectives since I believe from how the brothers’ perspectives were felt betrayed that the business grew into the one that they did not envision and expect in the beginning. However, on the other side, the deal allowed the brothers to leave out the business while getting financial compensation as a part of business “partner” I could say. So, whether saying if selling the business to Ray Kroc was a good deal or not. It kinds of depend on how we see the deals. But to be honest, I would say It was a win-win deal for them since the business grew into really huge multinational scale with high peak upscale within certain period of times.

And also about local franchisees make money, It was mostly through sales, and commissions. While Ray Kroc, received money through many ways such franchise expansion, franchise right and license, and also company stocks.

I feel like McDonald’s was just one of the example of how the business model works. There are many kind of business works including the various aspects including in it and McDonald’s was one of it that grew really well until present condition where there are around 40 thousand of total stores worldwide. It grew the economical purpose and also helps the countries with hundreds thousands of employments and also meeting the demand of food production business on almost all countries over the world.

Adidas Innovation Leads to Net-Zero Carbons Emission by 2040

The first company that popped out from my head when it comes into stuff that I really look into it was Adidas. Every time I talk about shoes, the first brand that always I check regularly was this brand without any hesitation especially during the new release specific type of shoes such as Adidas Samba or maybe Yeezy that has been discontinued earlier this year.

Adidas is one of some giant companies that sells many apparels and also footwear for daily-use or maybe exercise equipment. But there are many companies that compete the market since we all know that every-day basis wear is really a thing nowadays and these brands are really showing off their greatness of their products with its unique way. However, there are plenty of controversies happening out there due to the leftovers of the production residue that harm the environment. The company itself has deployed so many steps in order to keep this as a way to fix the issue while in the meantime, also provides the necessity of what market needs. So now, I would like to share some steps on how the company carries out the problem and take it as a commitment to sustain the environment.

Adidas is a renowned for their commitment to reduce their carbon footprint by taking the initiative to do the innovation such as The Climate Pledge, which targeting for net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2040. They have spent so many times in researches just to generate a new method of production and also designs to reform as a part of supporting the project. For example, until today, Adidas has reached their personal peak best of 96% of recycled polyester as a proof of their success. This is to say that there are so many changes that has been made in order to reach this stage. The changes were such as changing the materials into the virgin fossil-based materials, making the life extension of the products so the customer could wear it for longer period of time, and also provide carbon footprint details for each product.

Now, they also have served so many supporting events to support the program while inviting the people to join the mission as part of the humanity service that helps to support the earth.  I believe by creating new innovation specifically into more environmentally friendly materials would also help the project to reach the goals of net-zero carbon in 2040. However, some critics also suggest that Adidas might be focusing on distant goals rather than deciding immediate goals to be the leader of sustainable company in general of manufacturing and also the longstanding of its company in this field of industry.

In conclusion, I believe by doing the steps on each progression would lead into the better sustainable company as soon as possible, instead of doing zero progress for years. The project of net-zero carbons emissions by 2040 will be easily achieved if these companies also join and participate into it and together will bring to the greater end of result later.
