In Week G, we will focus on two units of study: Unit 11: Introduction to Management & Unit 12: Introduction to Human Resources.

In Unit 11: Introduction to Management we will explore the primary functions, responsibilities, and skills of effective leadership and management. We will learn about the three levels of management — top, middle, and first-line — and discuss the technical, interpersonal, and conceptual skills managers need to be effective.

In Unit 12: Introduction to Human Resources, we will explore the HR function and seek to understand the importance, structure, and responsibilities of Human Resources. There are several aspects of HR we will identify and discuss: staffing, training and professional development, safety, benefits & compensation, diversity & inclusion, and employee and labor relations — we already learned a bit about employee relations when we discussed Ethics earlier in the semester.
