Retention Assignment Ryan Natiello

  • What do you think is the most demotivating part of Harper’s job?

The most demoting part of Harper’s job currently is the newly given workload. Ever since Jose’s departure, Harper has been overworked. This is because Jose was the one who managed Harper but now that he left, Harper has no one to manage her work. This has been affecting her in many negative ways. One of those ways is the balance between work and life, Harper feels that it is becoming hard to balance her life with work and feels that work is overflowing her time outside of it. This is bad because constant work can make Harper put less effort into her work or even worse, quit. She is already deciding on whether she should leave Marketable Inc. or not due to her being burnt out. She begins to feel like all her work is not being recognized which is a terrible feeling. This feeling can turn into anger if Harper doesn’t get any benefits for all her hard work. Being overworked to the point where it affects your life isn’t a healthy work environment for a human; especially if it isn’t recognized.

  • If you were an HR manager meeting with Harper’s supervisor, David, what advice would you give to help them re-engage Harper?

If I were an HR manager, I would ask David to speak with Harper and ask her about her experience with the recent work and how it has been treating her. I think the best way for them to talk would be to throw a meeting with just them two. After Harper explains her recent experiences as we already addressed, they will have to discuss a way to fix the current problem in a grounded approach. David will have to provide Harper with a healthier workload or maybe higher a new person to manage her work. If not, that then give her a more flexible schedule. After the agreements are settled, I would give Harper a least a day off to collect herself and prepare for the next chapter at work. Lastly, I would recommend to David that he should give more benefits and maybe even promotions to people who put in the work and are reliable, handy, employees.

  • What would be the downside of losing Harper as an employee?

Harper leaving Marketable Inc could be very tragic for the company. Starting with the fact that Harper has been with the company for 4 years and has had the same role in the company for that time. This means she is already well educated in the company and is comfortable with everything there; this can lead to better results in her work. Another thing is that if she quits then the company will have to find a new hire that they don’t have any relationship with. This basically means they will have to build up a whole new employee which takes at least a year. The team only had six members, with Harper leaving it would be five; this is terrible because that means there would be double the work and the output for results would be slowed down tremendously. Harper’s leaving will slow down time for the company and they will have a lot of catching up to do.

Marketing Assignment

Ryan Natiello

I read a lot of comics; I love Marvel, so when I heard an Avengers game was in the making I freaked out of course. The game was being made by Crystal Dynamics and Published by Square Enix; these are two good gaming companies that. Square Enix made the Final Fantasy series and Crystal Dynamics made the Tomb Raider games which are both famous franchise. There is one problem with this fact though, that’s the fact that both of those game series are not a multiplayer online experience. Actually 99% of both these companies best games aren’t online which of course is a scary fact because Avengers would be a heavily online focused game. The Marketing for this game was that it was a game for “Everyone” which obviously sounds amazing but in reality you can’t make a game that’s for “Everyone” because it’s trying to be to many things all at once. Another thing is what if the person doesn’t even like marvel which therefore it can’t be for “everyone.” They were hyping up the game to be the ultimate Avengers experience; playing with your friends going on missions fighting big bosses and collecting loot while doing missions around the various small maps that you can freedom around. In a sense it was like that but nothing like the marketing was making it sound like. The worlds were hollow and the movement for the game was clunky and slow. The combat was super annoying and boring with you at the end of the day just spamming the same moves because it was the most optimal. The missions and maps had no variety and everything was basically the same every time you did a mission from enemies to missions. The marketing was hyping up it’s story mode making it seem like the main characters were the Avengers and you will experience them rebuild the group with there tragic lost on the day where the world celebrated the Avengers. Instead it was a story about Kamala Khan and basically her origin story of how she becomes a hero which the marketing did not tell us. Basically the marketing for this game was misleading and the reason why I bought the game was because I’m a Marvel fan and they offered me the ultimate Avengers experience. The game was fun for the first week; my main was Captain America and after I got him to max, I upgraded Iron Man and never played again. They will later release a dlc for Spider Man; letting you play as him. I was so bored of the game that I didn’t even try him out because I was tired of the bland gameplay; which is sad to say because Spider Man is my favorite Marvel hero. Good thing I didn’t though because everyone hated him due to his bad moves and movement and almost every dlc character in the game were lackluster. The marketing for this game promised every dlc character will come with a new story mode and map; Kate bishop and Black Panther were the only ones to come with it and they weren’t even good. Overall this game only satisfied me for about a week, I got the game on launch and was disappointed with the outcome. The marketing was misleading, but that’s not to say it was bad as for it had constant trailers on YouTube and TV and was even on build boards by my house; I think the most unique was when I saw A painting of the games cover on a big wall by my house. The overall marketing was good but it wasn’t true, one thing to remember is that the game was being made during covid so maybe that’s why it didn’t live up to what they promised. Maybe it was suppose to be a single player game which would explain why they had Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics on the project. The game was such a flop that its servers has been shut down on September 30th 2023. I guess the moral of the story is that you shouldn’t market what you can’t give; they bit off more than they can chew.

The Founder Assigment Example

  1. Visionary and ambitious, Ray Kroc was a businessman. Kroc recognized the opportunity to expand and establish franchises throughout the nation for the fast-food concept created by the McDonald brothers. On the other hand the McDonald’s brothers were fine with having a small but successful business and didn’t fined the need to expand.
  2. The movie makes the argument that the McDonald brothers may not have completely realized the long-term potential and value of their innovation, even if they did receive a sizable quantity of money for selling the rights to their brand and concept. Despite appearing large at first, Kroc’s pledge to give them a portion of the franchise’s revenues turns out to be much smaller as a result of several business gimmicks. Overall in my opinion I don’t think it was right for them to sell because they could have made more money than they received.
  3. Ray Kroc’s business demanded an upfront franchise fee from prospective franchisees in order to get them access to the McDonald’s name, infrastructure, and support.
  4. Due to his ownership of the McDonald’s brand, Kroc was able to make calculated choices that impacted the expansion and prosperity of the company.
  5. Honestly this film docent change my overall view on McDonalds; I did feel a bit bad about how Kroc got the business from the brothers but I guess that’s just business, you have to have that finesse. That isn’t going to stop me from buying a Big Mac with fries though; my favorite scene was when Kroc first ate at McDonalds and was dumb founded of how quick he got his food and didn’t know what to do with it or where to eat it.

When I first looked into this assignment it said to think of places you interact daily with, stores, restaurants, etc. At first, I had to think for a long time because there isn’t a store, I go to daily but a fast-food restaurant, and now that’s something I interact with almost every day. Quick and cheap, and most of the time it tastes good; but which one to choose? Well of course it has to be McDonald’s; I do live by one after all, so that is why it’s the one I eat from the most. Also, it’s always the easiest and cheapest thing to get on Uber Eats if I can’t go out.

Mcdonalds is one of the biggest fast-food chains in the world and one can argue it is the biggest of them all. Serving over 69 million customers daily in over 100 countries, McDonald’s brings good and cheap food all around the world. Mcdonald’s always comes in clutch when you are low on money and need a quick cheap bite with a lot of calories which some people say is a bad thing but if you don’t eat a lot like me and try your best to stay in shape it always comes in clutch. Mcdonald’s is known for its burgers and fries, but they have a variety of other menu items like chicken sandwiches and chicken nuggets, they even have desserts like the iconic mc flurry; sometimes they can even have special items that are only available for a limited time. I think McDonald’s is a place that always going to be there when you need a quick bite.

Mcdonald’s is a reliable food source and if it wasn’t I don’t think it would be as big as it is. Mcdonald’s has given several ways to make healthier choices with their food for starters they offer a nutrition calculator so you can track your calories, carbs, protein, etc. They even have their nutrition facts on the menu and on the Uber Eats or Door Dash menus. Mcdonald’s also offers a lot of work; even for people who don’t actually work for McDonald’s itself. What I mean by this is people who work for Uber Eats or Door Dash often get deliveries from people who are ordering from McDonalds and that just goes to show how McDonalds can help people make money even if it isn’t direct. The company also hires a lot and goes out of there as a way to get diversity in their workforce, if you get hired by them you should be expecting to make between 8 to 12 dollars and around 9600 a year which isn’t terrible for a first job; I guess it depends on your situation. Overall McDonald’s hires around 200,000 a year worldwide which isn’t bad in my opinion. McDonald’s also has a charity called Ronald McDonald House Charities, it is a charity that helps families with sick children who have cancer for example with housing, meals, and more. They can help families that aren’t financially stable to travel for their sick child or pay for the procedures.

Overall, after going through the information, I feel that McDonald’s is pretty good at giving back to the community for the most part and they do give people work and let them volunteer. The only thing I would say they can improve on is the pay they give to their employees. This is due to the fact that people who are later in life and have a family will struggle with the lower payment; sure, it’s good for the first job but I don’t think it’s reliable for later in life. I think the payment should be at least 15 dollars an hour; especially if they live in an expensive country. Like New York, if you live here, you will be financially struggling if it’s you live alone with no help and you only work at McDonald’s. 9600 a year might not be able to cut it for New York. I think people need to be paid a good wage no matter what job it is otherwise how will they live?
