Comics and movies are great forms of storytelling, everyone enjoys them and the experience itself is unique. We go to the movies with friends or loved ones and enjoy snacks while watching the story unfold on a big screen. Reading comics is no different, getting your favorite snacks and indulging in another universe through panels of art. I think the best one out of those would be reading novels. With novels it is a different experience than comics and movies, we are able to use our imagination. We ourselves make the scenarios that we read about, design the characters to our liking, and it is as if we are in the story with them.

Black Panther: Who Is the Black Panther?  is an example of being able to indulge in a novel and feel as though you are part of the plot. The book serves as a form of introduction to the world of Black Panther, introducing T’Challa, Wakanda, Vibranium, and Klaw to people. We are thrown into the world of a country isolated from the rest of the world known as Wakanda and the ruler. T’challa, who is the Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda, faces a mission to protect Wakanda from anyone wanting to cause harm or exploit the isolated country for the rare metals on land. In comes in Klaw, an assassin who leads an army of many men and mercenaries with another mission, to bring forth death and destruction to Wakanda for the riches the land has to offer.

You are really thrown into the story once you begin reading Black Panther: Who Is the Black Panther? by Jesse J. Holland. Reading this book as a stand-alone or along with the comics gives you a chance to get introduced to the Black Panther story. It is not needed in order to enjoy the franchise, but it is a good start or short read if you are curious but don’t want to jump into the comics. You get to know the characters while enjoying a decent paced storyline with your favorite snacks.
