In the 45 minutes it generally takes to get from my home in Harlem to BMCC (or anywhere downtown for that matter) I try to catch up on some reading that I don’t always get time for. Waiting on the platform I load up a long article on my phone, something I won’t have to click on in the tunnel, and I’m good to go. The New Yorker magazine is a good choice if your jumping on the train. Without a subscription you can get a daily email with summaries of current lead stories. Whether a lengthy profile or a political piece or one about a recent TV series, these usually keep me occupied for the ride. And yes, I’ve been known to miss my stop on occassion!
