Share a little about the three excerpts you selected:

  • Describe them to us, assuming that not everyone has read the excerpts you picked. What is the problem or issue at the core of this piece or resource?
  • Why did you pick these excerpts- what about them stood out to you?

De-stressing resources

hi all, I’m passing on some resources that are available for you in these times…
  • The BMCC Counseling Center runs various workshops and groups that can offer support around different types of stressful challenges

December 2, 2-4pm

A collective space for Asian American students to process and move through stressful situations

Are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed out as you navigate school and life during COVID? As Asian American students, we’ve been expected to continue the academic grind when everything around us has been changed by the pandemic. We may be struggling to juggle school responsibilities with personal responsibilities, especially for those of us coming from immigrant families.

Take a study break and join us for a collective space for Asian Americans to process the challenges of balancing school, home life, and environmental anxieties during a truly unique time. In this space, we will talk about how grief, gratitude, and courage can help us process the many things we’re experiencing in this moment.

We’re bringing together an intimate group of Asian American college students so we can collectively build resiliency together. We hope these practices will help us move forward feeling more grounded, more powerful, and less isolated. There are no prerequisites to joining – just show up, relax, and be present!

Facilitators: Yoojin Lee & Daniel Lim [further facilitator information at the Eventbrite link]
