Transfer Pipeline Program

dear all,
The Transfer Pipeline Program at Hunter College is a new transfer-student mentorship program for CUNY community college students who are starting at Hunter College in Fall 21.
The program is open to all CUNY CC-Hunter transfer students but the focus will be on Asian American Pacific Islander and 1st generation college students (of all backgrounds). The program will run every academic year.

grades + happy holidays!

dear all,

Congratulations on completing the semester!

The last few months have been unlike any we have ever experienced and I hope that you feel good about getting to the end, whatever that has looked like for you. I know that all of us are doing our best and are each facing our own every day challenges.

I wish all of you the very best in your next steps at BMCC and beyond and I hope you will keep me posted on where your life path takes you!

A few notes for you:

  • Grades have been posted on CUNY First. IF you feel I have made an error in calculating your grade — which is different than feeling unhappy about your grade– please send me a message with specific details and I will review the gradebook.

  • As you may know, BMCC has instituted a policy of Credit/No Credit, where BMCC students can opt-in to a CR grade if their earned grade is B+ through D-, NC grade if earned grade is F as long as the course is not in the Course Exclusions List in which case the student will not be able to opt-in to CR/NC grades.  If you are interested in this option, I STRONGLY suggest that you speak to someone in Advisement about the pros/cons, including any impacts that your decision will have on transfer credits and/or financial aid. You can always reach out to me with questions also and I will do my best to find out the answers for you.

  • If any of you are interested in taking more Ethnic Studies (or taking Gender and Women’s Studies classes), learning more about these majors, or anything related to these areas of BMCC, please be in touch. In addition to this class, I also teach Introduction to Gender and Women’s Studies (and there are still a few spots in the Spring 2020 class).

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SAFETY AND INTERNET SECURITY

Hello!  As I review your artifact archives, I see that some of you included personal immigration documents that belong to your interviewee without any alteration to protect their confidentiality.

Generally, it’s not a good idea to have these documents on the internet– please unshare your google slides and/or delete these particular slides as soon as you can. All the archives have been graded so I don’t need access anymore.

Be in touch with any questions!
