Danielle, this artifact archive is so interesting. I love how you used artifacts in a way like a story from past to present. Your grandmother seems very strong. Going through life in the Philippines and managing to pick up life in America after motherhood is amazing.
This archive is really amazing. All the slides were very personal and make me feel like I’ve met Leila. Also she looks so happy in the pictures which is really inspiring.
I loved looking through this and seeing your grandmother’s story. I felt as if I was watching her story right beside her. It was amazing and really well done.
Hi, I really like the way you did your artifacts. It was really interesting to see the story of your grandmother journey of migration and her life in America. Thank you for sharing, it was really nice.
I really love that your grandmother found love and it’s very inspiring. Not only that but it is cool to see her picture as a youth in the Philippines since I myself rarely see photos of my relatives from that same time in the Philippines.
I agree with Anaise and Jacob; it absolutely feels like we know your grandmother intimately from your retelling of her story. I think your choice of artifacts is really powerful as it shows her progress since immigration. The message that it’s never too late is so important! I hate the idea of “an old dog can’t learn new tricks” and it’s so inspiring to see her growth as a trail blazer of immigrant independence & breaking free from societal scripts.

Very inspiring and moving. I’m glad she is doing well now! Good luck on your journey!
