In Bao Phi’s article, he pointed out police brutality, and many Asian Americans are facing issues such as the “Black Death”. But this means that they belong to the weak side. This will not have any protective effect at all, and the police will not protect Asian Americans like white people.
According to Kate Zen’s article, he pointed out that what Chinese conservatism has learned is white conservatism, which defends a wrong person. Because Chinese conservatives are mainly on the side of the victims.
The main purpose of this letter is to support the black people who were innocently killed by the police without being treated fairly. Everyone’s life is equal.
I agree with you when you say they won’t be protected. I like how the author mentions that the law automatically has a bias towards cops as enforcers of law. That speaks volumes of how the justice system functions.
Hi Ren,
Yes, the direct comments on police most likely going to protect a white bystander over Asian Americans couldn’t be more relevant especially when one of their own was shot because he was mistaken for the one they were pursuing. Especially under the illusion if you support the force you’ll receive the support back in equal capacity.
I think majority of asians do move to assimilate to being white. They don’t want to recognize that they face the same problems as other POC and this becomes a big issue. They end up not wanting to disrupt the system that oppresses them and instead work by it with the hopes of rising up through hard work.
