The Southeast Asian refugees arrived in the US, they did not get much support when they settled down. And without help, they followed the bad way like: “dropping out of school, committing gang-related or otherwise serious crimes and later facing deportation. Experts call this the migration-to-school-to-prison-to-deportation pipeline”.
And moreover, Southeast Asian refugees risk being deported from American society because of their negligence and the number of times Southeast Asians commit too many crimes “Compared to other races, Southeast Asian-Americans have some of the highest dropout rates in the country, and the majority of them have not attended college”.
It can be said that during that time the refugees had a very difficult life and moreover the number of Southeast Asians deported was very high. It can affect their children. In fact, the refugees just want the opportunity and acceptance of everyone to lead a new life. On the other hand, they need information and they need to know about immigration policy in order not to deport.
There are refugees, in my opinion, they only want a new life and they always want no one to repeat their past mistakes.
Yes I agree, they only wanted to secure a better life for their selves and their families so it is unfair what is happening to them. It is horrible how they had to leave war torn countries only to worry about how ICE will arrest them.
I agree with you as well. These refugees just wanted a better life for themselves and their families. It’s so unfortunate how they not only didn’t get enough support in the US but are risked of being deported out of the same country that accepted them in. It’s honestly hypocritical too. It goes to show that this country never has really cared about poc.
I definitely agree. The immigration policies should be accessible so immigrants know what to prepare for. They would not have to be in fear the whole time in America and worse they were brought into America just to be treated like outsiders. It really sucks.
They came to this country for a better life, only to be treated like aliens and sent back by force, I am ashamed of how this country treats others
It definitely sucks that a lot of these immigrants come here only to get little-to-no help integrating themselves into American society. Like you pointed out, this results in things like dropping out of school, higher crime rates, etc. While anybody who commits crimes obviously needs to be held accountable, we should do everything we can to prevent them from being forced into these bad circumstances to begin with.
