Part 1

For your final project, you are going to create an original animated short (30 sec minimum) using the activities from the weekly modules to flesh out the character and story. You will be required to follow the steps in the modules in planning and creating your project (e.g. – pitch, storyboards, character design, modeling, rigging and animation). Keep the character design and the simple so that you can focus on the process as much as the finished product.
Pitch: For this project, try to get your idea down in one or two paragraphs. Think of your characters as mimes and focus on the actions and situations of your short. Less is more.
Storyboards: Use your storyboards as a road map for each of your shots. They don’t have to include every micro-interaction between characters, but should be enough to inform which shots you need to compose and animate.

Character design: Create at least two views (front & side) of your character, you will need these to load them into Cinema 4D and use them as guides in the modeling of your character. Remember that less is more, and in this case we want the design of the character to fit the rigging tools that we covered in the weekly modules. Use the examples above as a guide.

Please submit your pitch, storyboards and character design sheets by midnight on Sunday July 12th.
