Week 11 Genre

Happy Monday,

I am really enjoying the Devised pieces I have received so far. I think we are going to have a powerful class piece. Remember, the subject of your creation should center around Identity and what that means to you. There is no right or wrong, just be open, honest and authentic. You can create music, a poem, dialog to perform, movement… the limit is your creativity. Be sure you send your pieces in mp3 or mp4 format so I can download them to make the class piece. If that will not work you can share them with me via Google Drive at arts.integrator@gmail.com. I need these no later than Friday, April 23rd by 12n EST in order to include then in the Class piece.

For those of you a little behind, we are at the midpoint so I suggest making your self a schedule/plan to get caught up in the next couple of weeks. If you need help or further support please let me know.

For next week,

QUIZ 10 Via BB

Which genre interests you the most? Scares you? Speaks to you? Why? Once you have chosen a preferred genre find a play (No musicals, as we have already explored those) that you can stream that falls into that category.

Watch the play. Create a response to the play that

  • summarizes the plot
  • time period
  • action
  • why the chosen genre does or does not best support the story and why

Be sure you share the plays title, author, and publication date. You may choose how you present, video, slide show, article…just be sure you include the details outlined above and offer us images/references to support.

Have fun and be creative.

Please review and respond to at least 2 of your ensemble members posts. Please offer one I appreciate… (something that worked well) and one I wonder… (something that is not clear or that you have a helpful hint for)

Have a great week,

Prof. Christina
