Artifact: Case Study Paper
Computational Skill: Abstraction, decomposition and data literacy
Rationale: To develop an understanding of data from the ground up, to learn to recognize young children’s CT skills
Course Learning Outcome: Students will apply computational thinking (CT) concepts to analyze children’s problem-solving processes through focused observation, breaking down each step to gain insights into their cognitive development. Students will learn data analysis as well as recognition of how children demonstrate CT during regular classroom activities.
Student Directions: Students can either do select activities to focus on data literacy or do the entire CT version of the case study paper with a full data-set
