I want to be able to stand in front of the audience and give a speech without using filler words or stumbling over my words. At the end I also want to be able to differentiate and practice using casual speech from professional speech.

    1) I want to be to make eye contact with people in the audience as a means to show engagement between the audience and myself

    2) I want to be able to feel confident enough to present in a scenario where the instructor ask “okay so who would like to go first?” and I would be the person to raise my hand or stand up and be ready

    3) I want to be able comfortably help others feel more comfortable to speak up and say what they might be thinking of adding or being able to be the person to motivate them and give them the slight push they might need to want to also participate. Sometimes all someone needs is an extra push.

A few ways in which I’d like to embrace discomfort in this class to further my learning and growth are taking risks, communicating with out slurring my words and networking with my fellow classmates as much as I can to build my level of comfort when speaking to people. This will not only help with personal growth but, also help with my overall career path. Networking with confidence and building a portfolio of clients.

You see in the beginning as they switched between different pair frames of people, without them saying anything many of them were anxious or contemplating whether they wanted to jump or not

Then in the scene of the female and male, the male is zoning in and out the sound of the female’s voice while also listening to the sound of her voice but you can see how at the same time he’s continuously looking over the ledge of the diving board in contemplation. And as for the female she seemed to be chatty out of nervousness and kind of waiting on the decision of the guys then as you see in the end the guy ends up going for it and the girl not too long after joins him

For this class, I plan to put myself more on the spot, to get to know my weak points when it comes to talking in public, and also learn how to read my crown, all this to make myself more comfortable when it comes to public speaking.

Try to be the first one to get up and speak up is one of the three uncomfortable things I’d like to do in this class in order to grow and learn more. When I speak, I want to make greater eye contact, speak with confidence, and convey what I think without holding back. I have a lot to say.
