How does your family, peers, community, or the media influence your participation in civic or political matters in activities or issues that affect you the most? What of social change? What factors affect young people to come together for collective action?

My family, peers, and community influence my participation in civic or political manners since we share the same values and ideas with politics. My family members are not aware or knowledgeable of certain political manner. They are most likely to get influence on social media platforms since they are traditional and don’t know how to do extensive research. But the ideas they believe in go in hand with being fair and helping low-income immigrants in which I stand by. Also, since my siblings our around my age, we are able to learn from each other’s political point of view and we keep each other informed about what’s going on in society. Another person that influences me the most is my partner he is very aware of what’s happening in our society he does a sustainable amount of research. When it comes to politics his the person I go to for reassure from certain issues that are happening around the world. Some factors that affect young people to come together for collective actions not being knowledgeable or interested in certain social issues. There’s also no change being done for the issues they are fighting for so why continue to fight when nothing is going to be done. Also, since New York state is primarily democratic most people don’t even bother to vote since they believe the democratic is always going to be in their favor.
