    Gender Equality

In 1920, After a long light, and protest t of woman like Susan .B, Elizabeth
Staton , Congress had finally pass a new law that give the right to vote woman.
100 years later, if we to the point, we can said that women had done an incredible job because they have show to the all word that they are equal are men.

Today, in all the field, we have some women. Politically, women had show that they deserve they place in this section and now they are the majority in Congress and at the US election 2016, I personally believe that that we were going to witness the first American president women. But anyway we have president women in country like Allemand , Liberia, Germany. So women had now show that they can as well played the role of leader in any position in the society.

After that women had showed they importance in society during World War 2, They had gain a huge respect and now , they are participation in the industrial revolution where we had a in all position of work from mechanical, construction, job CEO of big company. Then we had witness a discrimination in the pay of women because of there gender but we said not this is against equal right and humain right and i believe that society and government need to really make a stop to this act of discrimination base on gender.

According to the video Gender equality: the smart thing to do ” 3/100″ of women are CEO this number is to low. Now with more and more women that are getting education, i believe that this number will soon be balance because women are smart and responsable as man their work is a living prof of what they are capable to accomplish .

As we are the product of society, and our decision, opinion and reaction are mostly influence by society, we started to label thing base on gender for instance what will be your reaction when you see a woman doing plumbing ? shock ! right Yes but they can do it maybe better then certain do . Society have in one way brain wash people mind so their start discriminating people base on their gender. But this need to stop.
To conclude , if we look base we can said Good Job This 100 years was well usued to the good cause of women . And they had done a great work protecting and imposing them self in this society that still try to discriminate and devalue them . Still women need to quipe the rhythm to change mentality because they had already show to the wall that they run the world

  2. Gender equality is a political concept that emphasises equality between genders. It is typically defined as women and men enjoying the same opportunities, rights and responsibilities within all areas of life. However, similar to all the other concepts, gender equality can be used in different ways and can convey different meanings. Gender equality might mean that women and men should be treated equally, or differently. For example, it may imply that women and men should be paid the same for doing the same work or that they should be treated with different medicines and methods in order to make healthcare equal. Women have come a long way in fighting for what’s right for them and things being fair because they believe that they can do everything that men can do. For many years women were fighting their right to vote and in 1920 they passed a law that granted women to be able to. Achieving this milestone required difficult struggles like protests for decades. Gender Inequality is when men and women are not equal and that gender affects an individual’s living experience. These differences arise from distinctions in biology, psychology, and cultural norms. Gender inequality is a major problem on local, national and global levels. Not only does it affect the lives of individual men and women, but the inequality between genders also stunts economic growth and stops development. Women go through so many people that they speak up about for example, eliminating violence against them. According to the Violence Against Women’s article 1 in 3 women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, most frequently by an intimate partner. Women speak up for themselves and fight through it. They would partner with Governments, or civil society organizations and other institutions to advocate for ending violence, increase awareness of the causes and consequences of violence and build the capacity of partners to prevent and respond to violence. They also promote the need for changing norms and behaviour of men and boys, and advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. These are things that women speak off to spread awareness and help each other out. 100 years later, and women still feel empowered.

  3. In my View I think the role in Gender of male and female expectations is very common in a lot of culture and countries.Like for example many Look at women as we our duty is to cook and put food on the table for our family and to be homebody and clean and do everything the family needs. As per Male , male are look as the man of the house the one who provides and make sure his family is always good and that they always have a roof over they head.My thoughts on this concept of society reviews I disagree with the idea that women not suppose to work and that they suppose to stay home and just provide for family. There are some women who enjoy working and earning their own and having a career. It also affects women also as in some job women can’t perform the duty or they don’t get the position because men think it a manly job.As per Culture my thought on culture I believe culture is everywhere in school and work and even our local spots like the supermarket or our local library.I believe culture can be accepted mostly through music many hear different music and become involve and familiar with the music from different cultures.Regarding verbal and non verbal communication many people face this problem everyday workplace. Many people take care different people that speak different languages and we try to understand them through different body language or through face expresssion.I believe the views of different races and ethnicity affect society everyday because many people move into America from different places causing to hire people from different races to help out for everyday recourses.I also believe new traditions of clothing and food places are coming more together and being more accepted as more cultures become interested in each other.
It is widely documented that places with higher levels of income inequality have lower rates of social mobility. … We propose that one channel by which higher rates of income inequality might lead to lower rates of upward mobility is through lower rates of human capital investment among low-income individuals

  4. Gender equality means that the different behaviors, aspirations and needs of women and men are considered, valued and treated equally. It does not mean that women and men have to become the same, but that their rights, responsibilities and opportunities will not depend on whether they are born male or female. While not fully accepted in the world I feel like society is gradually moving toward this idea.
While a few years ago it was the norm for a woman to be a homemaker. To stay at home and cook, clean, and raise the children . Now it’s common to see the men doing the same. Women are playing a bigger role in the workforce now than they have 20/30 years ago. But it’s not all equal tho as there is still a big disparity when it comes to positions of power, and pay. According to the department of labor in 2017 men made on average about 25% more money than women. While women make up about 47% of the workforce (department of labor 2017), they only make up 6.6% of the CEOs in the Fortune 50 (fortune magazine 2019). While up from prior years this is still a huge difference.
This is very apparent in the sports world as well. Take the U.S. women’s soccer team. For the last 30 years the USWNT has been consistently better than the USMNT. The USWNT, currently ranked 1st in the world, has won three World Cups, four Olympic Gold Medals, and notched seven CONCACAF Gold Cup wins. The USMNT, on the other hand, has never done better than the quarterfinals in the World Cup and failed to qualify for the 2016 olympics. Yet the USWNT make on average per game about $5,000 compared to the USMNT’s $13,000.
Personally I feel that one way to help speed up gender equality is to start by teaching children at a young age. Boys are taught early on in life that certain things are meant for girls.Whether it’s by telling them certain jobs like being a nurse, model a beautician. They’re taught that showing emotion isn’t a “manly” thing to do. If we can show them that there isn’t a difference between men and women (besides biological) then gender equality wouldn’t be an issue,

  5. Why gender equality is so important? Higher development grows only in a society where both men and women are allowed to equal opportunities. Women in society are often restricted from getting equal rights as men, such as in health, education, decision-making, and work environment.
Women generally are the caregivers in the family because of this, women are mostly involved in household activities. For example, they stay home cooking, cleaning, and raising children. As a result, there is a lesser contribution of women in decision-making roles and leadership roles. According to the video “Gender Equality: The Smart Thing To Do” mentioned that only 19% of the worldwide parliament is composed of women. I believe this is a very low percent because women are intelligent as men or maybe more. These could be influenced by parents at a young age when they tell young girls to become nurses instead of doctors and secretary instead of business owners. Gender equality is achieved when women and men enjoy the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society. For example, in the health care and social work sector woman and men almost share the same opportunities. These could be the result of parents pushing the woman to become nurses and teachers. However, having one sector with almost equality is not enough. Women are as educated and healthy as men. When a woman shows their strength in other sectors consequences happened to them. Violence against women continues to be an obstacle to achieving equality and envelopment in gender. According to the Violence Against Women’s article women experience a lot of physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, most frequently by an intimate partner or family member. For example, sometimes in a relationship, if the woman makes more money then that man, he feels less then her thus resulting in violence towards her.

  6. What are your thoughts or views on gender and the way culture affects women?
My views on gender is that we still haven’t made it to the perfect point for expectations on both sides of things. For example there are still expectations in a huge amount of places in the world where Men are still considered the ones who go out and work meanwhile women have the expectations to be at home. With how some cultures are at the moment the way women live can be greatly affected like with how some cultures limit women’s lives in various aspects for example not being allowed to drive or vote in some places. We are still far from perfection in terms of equality and would need to see lots of change in order to achieve true gender equality.

What are your views on race and ethnicity and how they continue to affect segments of the society?
My views on race and ethnicity are mostly null since race and ethnicity shouldn’t affect lots of opinions on people. How they continue to affect segments of society is they have the potential to affect many various aspects of a person’s life. With things such as where they can live or who they interact with. Even affecting how others may see you.
