Abstract:

My poster is about the phenomena: auroras. In my research I not only gathered why and how we see these lights in the northern sky, but also how they disrupt earth and its magnetic field. I used NASA to gather details on how exactly they find information on these auroras, I found that scientist use sounding rockets to properly measure the winds, density and particle population creating the aurora. Therefore I gathered results on how these auroras exactly happen and how it effects us, this made me come to the conclusion that particles from the sun are being deflected by earths magnetic field causing these bright lights of colors. Also that these particles are ripping earths magnetic field which answers the question of how these auroras disrupt it.
