“Slow Scholarship” and a Feminists Ethics of Care as ResistanceIn part three of our Re-envisioning Scholarship series, join us for a conversation about what it means to prioritize community and care in academic environments that emphasize high productivity. We will host a discussion based on the article, “For Slow Scholarship: A Feminist Politics of Resistance through Collective Action in the Neoliberal University” (Mountz et al 2015). In this discussion, we will think through the need for a “slow scholarship” informed by a feminist ethics of care, which can center new ways of labor organizing, alternative modes of scholarship, and communally nurturing spaces. |
