Hi, my name is Aiyanna! My major is computer information systems. I decided to take Portuguese for two reasons. The first is because I learn languages for fun. The second is because my grandfather is from Guyana, a country that is next to Brazil. My topics of interest are music/dance, culture, food. Hello, my name is Juan Lopez, my major is business management. I’m from Colombia I moved to New York a year and a half ago, I like to play soccer and video games. I decided to take Portuguese because freshmen year of high school I took Portuguese so I remember some basic stuff and also because Portuguese is very similar to Spanish.
Some topics I would like to learn about are the culture/history of Brazil and the importance of soccer in Brazil.

My name is Ursula. I am taking this class because I have always taken a language class in school. Another reason is because I have Angolan friends who speak the language and I want to be at least able to comprehend a bit when we travel to Brazil one day which is on our bucket list. I would like to learn more about the different cultural groups in Brazil. I’m also excited to learn about the cuisines, the history behind them and maybe how to make the easier ones.
