    1. Hi Dominique,
It’s great to meet you! I really admire your goal of becoming a BCBA and focusing on self-regulation for children with autism. I can relate, as I’ve been working as a behavioral tech for 7 years with children with special needs. Like you, I’ve faced challenges in school but I’m passionate about helping kids, which keeps me motivated.

Looking forward to learning alongside you this semester!

  2. Hello everyone, My name is Donje, and I’m currently a psychology major at BMCC. I’ve been working as a behavioral tech for children with special needs for the past 7 years, which has been both challenging and rewarding. I initially enrolled at BMCC with the goal of becoming an emergency medical technician, but when things didn’t quite work out in that area, I decided to continue pursuing something I already had some experience and knowledge in psychology. I’m really interested in studying at BMCC because it’s a great starting point for me to learn more about the psychological field and how it connects with working with children, especially in educational settings. After I complete my studies here, my goal is to become a school counselor, specifically working with high school students. I feel passionate about helping kids navigate their challenges and providing the support they need to succeed. Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring different ways to relax and unwind. I’m excited to be here and look forward to learning more from everyone in the class.

    1. Hi Donje, It’s nice to meet you. It’s great that your goal is to become a school counselor. I’m also interested in working with children to provide them support and resources. I agree with how challenging this field can be and it’s inspirational how connected you are with the work you do. It’s nice to see how passionate you are as this can be very encouraging for many. You’re doing great and hopefully your studies go well! I also look forward to learning in this class.

    1. Hello Wilton, it’s nice to meet you. I also had to relocate in order to get my degree for my major that I could only find here available at BMCC. I hope you succeed in getting your associate’s degree here at BMCC and beyond.

    2. Hey Lea, nice to meet you. DIDO!!! I am different with people once I actually catch their vibe and know what I am dealing with but I like to say I am an extreme introvert I am not big on people at all really , but to actually know me is to love me and that is one thing I cannot change about myself. I didn’t think I would be here right now neither as college got a little hard and I did not know what I wanted out of thus exactly but I found my path and my reason now I will not be leaving without my diploma. wishing you lucK!!

    3. Hi Leasly! I’d also describe myself as a “situational extrovert”, I never thought I’d find someone else who understands that being an extrovert is conditional, being around friends definitely makes it easier to be yourself.
