Wednesdays, May 27 – August 12, 2026, 10am-12pm
Hosted by Craig Nielsen and jean amaral, Library Open Knowledge faculty members
12 Weeks to Done! returns Summer 2026 to provide a unique collective writing space for interested staff and faculty. The writing group combines collegial camaraderie with Wendy Laura Belcher’s Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks to get participants to done by the end of the summer. No matter the writing project (it doesn’t have to be an article) or how far along you are in the process, this group will provide information and solidarity to help you achieve your summer writing goals.
We will have a limited number of physical copies of Belcher’s Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks, which we are prioritizing for participants writing journal articles. There will also be opportunities to learn about and discuss topics pertaining to academic publishing and scholarly communication. These topics include predatory or faux publishers, citation managers, resources for identifying publication venues, and open access publishing, depending on participant interest.
We will be meeting in a hybrid format, in the CETLS Conference Room (S-510D) and via recurring Zoom room. Each week we’ll begin with loosely facilitated discussion and check-ins before silent co-writing time. Participants joining via Zoom will have the option to write in their own individual breakout rooms or to write in a silent group writing room.
Fill out the sign-up form to receive more information about the writing group, including the Zoom link.
