UNESCO explains that open educational resources, or OER, are “learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others.”

BMCC faculty have been leading CUNY in redesigning their courses with OER and other no-cost materials since the launch of BMCC’s Open/Alternative Textbook Program in spring 2015. Explore this site to learn more about OER at BMCC and get involved.
