Week2 – Group Forming Activity

For instructions on how to submit a post, please follow these instructions: https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/mmp460-s2022/posting-on-open-lab/. FORMATTING FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT: Use the title format “[FirstName] [LastName] group forming” and select the Category “Week 2 – Group Forming Activity”

Step 1: Create a Post with answers to the following questions:

  • When are you available to meet outside of class?
  • Which skills can you bring to the team?
  • Are you comfortable leading or have you led a group team like this before?
  • What is your major?
  • What are your career goals?
  • What grade are you seeking to get on this project?
  • Are you the kind of person who works through the semester steadily or seeks to complete everything right before the assessment is due?
  • What social cause are you interested in? This could be a general subject (i.e: the environment) or a more specific topic (i.e: Cleaning up the Gowanus canal).

Step 2: Read everyone else’s answers. Write down each classmate’s name and write down  a “compatibility” level – between 1 (lowest) and 5 (best) – next to each one.

Step 3: Email me your compatibility list at apinkas@bmcc.cuny.edu. Give each potential teammate a number from 1 (least compatible) to 4 (very compatible). I will keep these ratings anonymous and will take them into account when forming the groups. Please do not be disappointed if you don’t get your “ideal” group. I will do my best to accommodate everyone’s preferences but will also try to balance everyone’s skill sets.

Week 2- Group Forming Activity

  1. When are you available to meet outside of class? I am available to meet on Some Wednesday and Thrusday, Sometimes Friday.
  2. Which skills can you bring to the team? The Skills I can bring to the team is Creativity, and Ideas.
  3. Are you comfortable leading or have you led a group team like this before? I am more comfortable in having someone else lead the group. I haven’t led a group team like this before.
  4. What is your major? My major is MultiMedia Programming.
  5. What are your career goals? My career goals are becoming a programmer.
  6. What grade are you seeking to get on this project? The grade I am seeking to get this project is a 90%.
  7. Are you the kind of person who works through the semester steadily or seeks to complete everything right before the assessment is due? I’m the kind of person who work through the semester when I have time to work on it. I love doing my work in a steadily through the semester so I can see what I can add or improve.
  8. What social cause are you interested in? This could be a general subject (i.e: the environment) or a more specific topic (i.e: Cleaning up the Gowanus canal) The social cause that I am interested in is Fighting for the Helping the Earth, The Deportations of Innocent Immigrants, and Discrimination.

I am available to meet Wednesdays and Fridays.

Which skills can you bring to the team?
The skills I bring to the team is creativity, attention to detail, troubleshooting

Are you comfortable leading or have you led a group team like this before?
I would say I am not that comfortable with leading but I lead a group project similar to this before which was about creating an app that alerted others about attacks occurring in the subway to set awareness for a safer environment.

What is your major?
My major is Multimedia Programming and Design.

What are your career goals?
My career goals are to get an internship as a graphic designer and build more on my skills. Furthermore, get a job in my field and use all my skills.

What grade are you seeking to get on this project?
The grade I am seeking to get on this project is hopefully a 90 or higher.

Are you the kind of person who works through the semester steadily or seeks to complete everything right before the assessment is due?
I am the person who works through the semester steadily because I like to see my progress throughout the project and make micro changes to make it the best it can be.

What social cause are you interested in? This could be a general subject (i.e: the environment) or a more specific topic (i.e: Cleaning up the Gowanus canal).

The social cause I am interested in is discrimination, bullying, and hunger.
