ASSIGNMENT: AFTER EFFECTS – ANIMATION & SOUND

Launch Adobe After Effects and translate your storyboard into an animation. Remember: you may only use typography and vector shapes (no characters), and should include at least 1 Effect, and 1 Mask or Track Matte.

Also start working on your animation’s soundtrack. Use sound/music to enhance your piece (i.e: make the actions of your character clearer/more dramatic, to add emotion, humor etc.). Freesound.org, Internet Archive: Audio Archive, and Creative Commons tracks on SoundCloud are good resources for CC licensed audio.

Deliverables (on Blackboard before next week’s class):

  • Your animation should be at least 70% complete. Submit your .aep file.

Deliverables (on Blackboard before week 12/final due date):

  • Completed animation in Quicktime format (.mov)
  • Finished .aep file
  • A short statement (use this template)
