Open Lab (https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu) is an open-source platform that allows BMCC students and faculty to share their work online (publicly or privately).
Students should create a profile. They can then join courses they are enrolled in every semester to access resources, and link their work to it. Open Lab also provides a great Portfolio platform. It’s a great way of collecting and broadcasting your work. This way you’ll be ready to show your animations, sketches, storyboard etc. when applying to 4-year programs, internships and studios.
Please follow these instructions to sign-up for Open Lab:
1. Go to the OpenLab at https://OpenLab.bmcc.cuny.edu
2. Click the “Sign Up” button on the top left of the page
3. You’ll be redirected to the Repass. Enter your BMCC username and password (the same you use for logging onto the school computers)
4. You’ll be redirected to a Registration page where you will chose your username and enter some information.
4a. When asked for a login code use student2019spring
5. Once you submit the form you will be registered. From then on you can just click “Sign In” on the Open Lab Home page and it will redirect you to the Repass and then back to the OpenLab.
6. Once you’re logged in, search for the MMP260-1301, S2019 course and request to join it.
