The game I chose was Apex Legends, made by the up and coming Respawn Entertainment in 2019. It’s a first person shooter battle royale game, based in the same universe as the famous Titanfall series.
Goals
The main goal in Apex Legends is to be the last surviving team and become the champion.
Obstacles
Your main obstacles are other players and the damaging circle that is closing in on you. You have to fight your way through or get destroyed by the circle closing in.
Rewards
You get rewarded with XP and Stat Points each kill you get and each time you revive or save your teammates. It is a team based game afterall and you need them in order to succeed.
The game that I’m currently playing is the remastered Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 which was developed by Vicarious Visions and released in 2020. It is a remastered version of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 (1999) and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (2000).
The Goal is to keep the streak going. Bigger combos are something you want to aim for.
Since skateboarding can be done anywhere, the Obstacles are everywhere. Some of the Obstacles are cars, ramps, rails, and even your balance meter.
When you get enough points your reward is a Level or Skill unlock. During gameplay you also get a “special meter bar” as a reward.
I played Nier Automata from 2017. It is an action role-playing game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. The game was originally a Playstation exclusive title but has made its way to Xbox and PC players soon after.
The main goal of the game is to eliminate machines so humans can return back to earth. (Humanity is extinct)
The game is filled with obstacles such as bosses, enemy androids, and machines that all try to get in your way of fulfilling your duty to reclaim their homeland.
The rewards you get can vary between acquiring more mods for your character, leveling up, finding better/rarer weapons in the game. Further exploration can reveal the dozens of hidden endings that this game has to offer. You can even buy all the achievements in the game once you complete it through a secret NPC.
Nier Automata is an underrated masterpiece and I recommend anyone and everyone to try it. Nier has one of the best video game soundtracks I have ever heard in a video game and has a very compelling storyline.
One Piece World Seeker is an open world story mode based game that was inspired by the anime One Piece. It was released in march 14th, 2019. The Goal for this game is to simply reach the antagonist at the end of the game who goes by the name of Issac.
Through out the progression of the game you will be awarded skill points by each mission that you complete which you invest the skill points in upgrading your skillset to improve your strength and fighting style.Luffy is equipped with three modes in the game, stealth mode, Armored Haki mode, and an ultimate form called Boundman mode witch is very powerful but also very limited.When you defeat a boss in each chapter of the story mode the next will become more challenging to defeat that the one you faced before.One Peace World Seeker is one of my favorite games because is really fun and also creative in a sense where many situations you run into the game will require you to be unique in the choices you make.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 is a Sonic fangame on PC that has been worked on since 1998 and had its current version posted in December 7th, 2019, and its most recent update of that version posted in late 2020.
The main goal of the game is to run into or past the Robotnik/Eggman signposts to complete each of the main levels.
The main obstacles of the game are the different badniks that try to kill your character by either ramming into him or her or shooting him/her with a projectile(s) and getting through the decently large levels.
The reward for beating the game is destroying Dr. Robotnik’s/Eggman’s orbital base/space cannon and unlocking the 3 challenge levels, Haunted Heights Zone, Aerial Garden Zone, and Azure Temple Zone.
After the initial release date on June 15th of 2018, “Among Us” has taken the world by storm in 2020. Join your fellow crewmates and complete tasks to escape the grasps of the Impostors onboard!
Crewmate Goals
The goal of this game is different for each role. For Crewmates, you need to complete your tasks and fill up the taskbar to win the game. You have to be quick or else the Impostors either kill the whole crew or win due to Sabotages.
Impostor Goals
The Impostors need to kill all Crewmates or Sabotage to win the game. As an Impostor, your job is to blend in with the other players and remove sus from you and your other teammate. This works well when doors and sabotages get called strategically.
Obstacles for both Crewmates and Impostors
Some of the obstacles that Crewmates go through are having to fix the Sabotages in time, getting locked out or in places to stop them from finding bodies, or delayed from getting to their tasks. Impostors obstacles are timing their kills properly, faking their tasks to fool the Crewmates, and lying during meetings.
Rewards!
For both Impostors and Crewmates, the reward is winning the game at the end.
The game I chose is Path of Exile, released in 2013 by Australian indie game company Grinding Gear Games (or GGG for short). It’s a top-down ARPG that revolves around your character becoming stronger and stronger (think Diablo but wacked out on cocaine).
Goals
Above is definitely not the only goal, but certainly the first goal that you would aim for. Filling out the “Atlas” is sort of like completing a racing game with 1 star on each map: “Congrats, now you’ve made it to the real game!” It is the easiest way to maximize the rewards that you can gain from the game, while also securing an easy inflow of ‘map sustain’ (which are what you use to actually play in the late game).
Rewards
Also not the only rewards, but these two are the main rewards you get IN the game itself. ABOVE, the spider web skill tree is the simplest age old “you leveled up, get a small/large buff.” Levels get harder to increase, and they cap at 100, but if you put the points in the right places you can be insanely strong. And BELOW are the items that drop from monsters, which is the main reward in the game for most players. Along with different appearances, different sounds will play depending on how rare/expensive the item is. This can itself be a reason to play the game more, think carrot on a stick.
Obstacles

The game I played was Borderlands 3 made by GearBox Software and 2K . It is a first person shooter looter game with exploration in the game. The year the game was made 2019.
The Goal of the game was to kill the calypso twins because they are trying to unlock the final vault. To absorb the vault monster to gain ultimate power.
The obstacle towards our goals is the psycho bandits that always trying to kill you. Because they worship twins they won’t let no one hurt they’re gods.
The Reward in the game is to obtain Great Epic loot by killing the enemies in the game.
