User Testing Results for Mad Duck

Here are the results of my user testing survey

All users were able to play the game.
Controls for the game was easy to navigate.
A user commented that the game woud be more playable if it was zoomed out more.
50% of user’s game play was less than 5 minutes and 50% of user’s game play was 5-10 minutes.
The users testing the game did not reach the end of the game.
A user commented that there is an impossible jump in level 2. Another user commented that the sound in the beginning is too loud.

The three thing I want to change in my game are:

  1. I want to fix the loud sound in the beginning.
  2. I want to zoom out and make the game area bigger.
  3. I want to make the jump in level 2 easier.

Obstacles and Reward

This spikeball may come rolling at you at any moment. Be ready to jump.

These are spikes that you have to watch out for. The floor may cave and these spikes will end your game if you’re not careful.

Watch out for these Rats. They’re hungry and looking for food. If they see you, they’ll attack.

This is health to help you heal.

Eating these sandwiches will earn you points.

Wearing this helmet will give you extra armor.

Syoban Action

There are no real goals in this game except to reach the end and realize you’ve been trolled. It looks like Mario but it is a huge death trap. This game really doesn’t have a genre. It is made as a joke. It was fun and made me laugh.

Platforms and Scenery

I chose clouds, mountains, hills, and bushes to be the elements in my scenery. I chose them because I think they all form a parallax effect that make you feel their distance and the character’s speed.

Goals, Obstacles, Rewards

The game that I’m currently playing is the remastered Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 which was developed by Vicarious Visions and released in 2020. It is a remastered version of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 (1999) and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (2000).

The Goal is to keep the streak going. Bigger combos are something you want to aim for.

Since skateboarding can be done anywhere, the Obstacles are everywhere. Some of the Obstacles are cars, ramps, rails, and even your balance meter.

When you get enough points your reward is a Level or Skill unlock. During gameplay you also get a “special meter bar” as a reward.
