Title:  My Portfolio in Website Form

Semester/Year: Spring 2023

Software, coding/programming languages: HTML/CSS

Replit Code: https://replit.com/@Malik-JJ/My-Portfolio#style.css

Live Website: https://my-portfolio–malik-jj.repl.co/

In this portfolio, I recreated a part of my Wix portfolio using Replit from scratch. It features 7 creations made in Adobe Photoshop to showcase my skill level. Along with the artwork, I added an About Me page to provide insight into my creative and technical process. Visitors can learn more about my background, inspirations, and artistic journey. Additionally, I included a link to my Instagram page, allowing people to explore more of my work and connect with me directly. The visuals, colors, and sounds in the portfolio are carefully chosen to align with the subject matter and create a captivating experience. Fortunately, there were no major challenges as I had learned the fundamentals from a previous web project. Overall, this portfolio offers a comprehensive view of my artistic abilities and provides a platform for engagement and connection.

Title: Cyberpunk 2077 Interactive Teaser

Semester/Year: Spring 2023 Coding language/software: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

This interactive story is set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and follows the journey of the games protagonist, V. The aesthetic was inspired by the immersive and futuristic world-building of the Cyberpunk series. The most challenging part of the project was creating the branching paths of the story and ensuring that each decision had meaningful consequences. This was solved and built upon more by spending 2 sleepless nights learning and testing to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for the reader. Overall, this project allowed me to get over another fear of something I couldn’t ever imagine doing and explore the possibilities of interactive storytelling and combine my technical skills with my passion for immersive worlds and video games!

Malik Quinton After Effects Project

Title:  “All 41 14 All”

Semester/Year: Spring 2023

Software: Adobe After Effects

[MUTE AUDIO IF EXPLICIT LYRICS ISN’T YOUR THING]

This is a quick little project I originally made as a still Photoshop art for a potential opportunity at it being used for the Compilation Album for the NY/Brooklyn based rap group called ’41”, unfortunately I wasn’t chosen and was originally going to post it on my Instagram to add to my portfolio, but I saw the perfect opportunity to EXPAND on it even more and use the Assignment given to us by Prof. Owen and get over my fear of Adobe After Effects.

I originally was messing around with it back in December, learning things like the Timeline, Pickwhip, and Puppet Tools; The only thing I couldnt use was the 3D Camera, so I took the regular animation I did and took it to an application called CapCut, to add music, effects, and so forth.

Despite not being chosen for the previously mentioned opportunity, the art went noticed by the three subjects in the project on Instagram, and I also got over my fears and learned within 2-3 days. A win-win situation if you ask me.

SAYING GOODBYE IS HARD

Title:  Saying Goodbye Is Hard

Semester/Year: Spring 2023

Software: Audacity

“Saying Goodbye Is Hard” is an emotional audio project that captures the sounds of wind, car doors, and engines during the process of helping my mom move out of her townhouse due to unfortunate circumstances.

The project also includes a personal voice-over and an instrumental track from Rockstar Games’ Max Payne 3 that evokes a sense of nostalgia and bittersweet feelings.

It’s a relatable and human experience that everyone can connect with – saying goodbye to a loved one or a familiar place is never easy, but it’s a necessary part of life.
